A resident of the American state of Michigan cut dry branches on trees and discovered mysterious ice apples. His photographs were published by WoodTV.

The incident took place on Wednesday night, February 6, in the Fruit Ridge region. Andrew Sietsema noticed that after the rain, an ice crust formed on the rotting apples. As he began pruning the trees, the ice apples fell to the ground and shattered. However, in some fruits, the rotten pulp turned into a liquid mass and as a result flowed out.

The American claims that the focus is due to the ideal air temperature. He also admitted that the Jonagolds apple is one of his favorites. But now he jokingly calls them Jonaghosts (play on words, "ghosts" - "ghosts").

Since December 2018, abnormally low temperatures have been established in the central and northern parts of the United States - for the first time in 20 years. Frost is accompanied by heavy snowfalls, freezing rain and ice. In the states of Montana, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nebraska, the temperature dropped 11-20 degrees below normal. In some cities, the frost reaches minus 40 degrees.
