Within the city of Vyazma there is (although most likely there was) a pond, where anomalous phenomena were repeatedly observed earlier, some of which may have been ball lightning.
So, V. A. Vasiliev in August of an unnamed year witnessed the appearance of an extraordinary ball lightning (SM). This is how his story sounded in the early 1990s:
“It was 15-20 years ago, in August, late in the evening, more precisely at 11 am. I came to the tap to draw water. Not reaching 3-5 m to the speaker, I heard noise and crackling above me. I raise my eyes, I see: 10 meters above the column, or rather above the pond, that next to it, an object, completely covered with sparks, like a hedgehog with needles.
Sparks fell from it, heat and crackling emanated. A dark object smoothly entered the water, a hiss was heard, then everything died down. In shape, it resembled a chicken egg, with two blunt ends, measuring 1 m in diameter, if not more. In general, it gave the impression of a sparkler, which is used on New Year's holidays.
All this happened in 2-4 seconds. I have an excellent visual memory, I am an artist by profession, I remember it as if it was yesterday, although then I was 12 years old."
Before the advent of ball lightning in the 1970s, the pond was beautiful and clean, the water in it was crystal clear and edible. There was fish in it. In this pond they swam, swam, rinsed linen. Water lilies and reeds grew along the banks of the pond.
After the appearance of ball lightning in the pond, the fish suddenly disappeared, and all attempts to make complementary food, start the fry again and breed the fish failed. The pond began to quickly become shallow, despite the fact that the water pump was turned on for several days in a row and the water flowed into the pond.
The pond became shallow, overgrown with mud, decreased in size, the water became dirty, reeds, lilies - everything was gone. Now it looks more like a muddy puddle; nothing was known about the observations of anomalous phenomena in the 1990s.
