Doctors and the woman herself are still in shock and cannot find an explanation for what happened.

You, too, have probably heard about miraculous cases when a person after a coma suddenly, unexpectedly for himself, began to speak in an unfamiliar language. Or he was discovering some other abilities … An incident that happened not so long ago in Florida (USA) can also be classified as miraculous. At least, doctors still cannot explain what happened.

A woman who had been blind for over 20 years suddenly began to see. Moreover, her eyesight returned after she fell in her house and hit her head hard.

Mary Ann Franco, 70, went blind after a spinal injury in a car accident in 1993. “The only thing I could see was blackness,” she told The Independent.

“And this time I was at home, in the living room, and when at some point I went to the door, I caught my foot on the tiles, lost my balance and fell. I hit my head and back on the fireplace. And she lost consciousness."

She regained consciousness after the operation, which lasted four hours and after which she had to wear a “collar” for her neck for a long time. And what she began to see, she did not immediately understand because of confusion after anesthesia. Therefore, the doctors missed the important moment when it was possible to fix the starting point and track the smooth restoration of vision.

The reason for the miraculous return of sight is still unclear. At least the neurosurgeon John Afshar, the attending physician of Mary Ann Franco, calls it nothing less than a miracle. Although he makes assumptions that the "miracle" could be the result of a bending of some artery or optic nerve, and as a result of a surgical operation it was returned to its normal position. "Although I've never seen anything like it."

But be that as it may, after 20 years, the blind woman regained her sight. Moreover, her color blindness, which she suffered from before the accident, disappeared.

“In the morning I get out of bed and see the sun's rays pass through the trees. It's so exciting to watch!”She admits.
