Spiralovita Obzorna ("spiral streme") is one of the most unusual observation towers in the Czech Republic, a country where there are not so many similar towers. This winding tower is located at an altitude of 777 meters above sea level, and from it you can not only enjoy a beautiful view of the surroundings, but also has a unique architecture.
But how and when it was built …
During the economic crisis between 1933 and 1935 in the village of Krasno, they wanted to provide jobs for citizens and attract people to build an observation tower. Legends tell that the designers - local sculptor Willie Russ and local architect Fritz Hoffmann were inspired by the story of the Tower of Babel.
A spiral staircase of 120 steps leads to the top of the tower. The construction work was carried out by unemployed citizens of the Krasenskaya district. To save on the stone used for construction, it was collected in the surrounding area.

Until the end of the First World War, the village of Krasno was called "Schönfeld" and was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. With the expulsion of German-speaking people from the Czech Republic after the war, the population was greatly reduced. The tower was abandoned for a long time and in 1997 it was renovated and partially reconstructed.
During renovations, porcelain plaques were added to the top of the tower. The tower offers a magnificent view of distant places. Many events are organized around the tower by the Krasne population throughout the year, among them the traditional burning of stuffed witches.
