The purpose of the Egyptian pyramids has not been fully clarified. It is also unclear how they were erected. Will humanity ever be able to approach the mystery of a bygone civilization, to unravel the code of the pyramids?
A huge sarcophagus or something more?
Until recently, it was believed that the pyramids are majestic tombs, the last resting place of the pharaohs. However, scientists now insist that their functions are much broader. This is evidenced by the amazing results of the measurement of the Cheops pyramid. The diagonal of one of the faces is directed along the meridian exactly to the North Pole, and with an error less than that of the Paris Observatory. In addition, it turned out that the Egyptian masters made the pyramids a reflection of the location of the stars in the constellation Orion, and the top of the Great Pyramid looks exactly at the North Star. Was such an astonishing accuracy of location necessary only for the burial of the pharaoh?
According to one theory, the pyramids are the most powerful energy center of the Earth. The location of the Cheops pyramid is unique in this sense: the meridian on which its top is located divides the land and sea surfaces equally, including America and the Pacific Ocean, and moreover, the parallel passing through the center of the pyramid also divides the planet into two equal parts by the amount of water and sushi.
Andrey Sklyarov, the author of the film "Technologies of the Gods", supports the working version of the pyramids as energy storage devices for human use or further transportation. American scientists have tried to make this theory scientific. They say there is an aquifer under the Giza plateau. The flowing water created an electric charge, and the ionized air in mines and corridors worked like a car battery. In many scientific works the idea is repeated that the Cheops pyramid is not a cultural structure, but a technical one, that it is a repository of something or a machine designed to perform work unknown to us.
And here the theory is intertwined with another, no less mysterious - about the disappearance of Atlantis. The great clairvoyant Edgar Cayce argued that Egypt is the repository of the knowledge of the dead Atlantis, and the pyramids are libraries that have collected the secrets of ancient culture. Whether it was really Atlantis or some other civilization is unknown, but the number of adherents of this theory is growing.
How did they do it?
The theory of the existence of an older and more advanced civilization is also proved by the presence of such knowledge and technologies, which our science is approaching only now.
Back in the 19th century, the British archaeologist Flinders Petrie was amazed that the dimensions of the plates from which the pyramids were built have an error of no more than two millimeters, and even a knife blade cannot be inserted into the joints. The main mystery is how the huge stone blocks were raised to a height of several tens of meters? Even now, with modern construction equipment, it would be difficult to implement. Traditional sources provide information on the use of slave labor and primitive tools in the form of drags and inclined planes. Herodotus writes about 100 thousand people who have been working for more than 20 years on the construction of the Cheops pyramid, but does not explain how all these people settled in such a limited area.
Japanese enthusiasts tried to build a pyramid using ancient technologies. It turned out to be an overwhelming task. The embankments for lifting the blocks were supposed to be huge, like the pyramid itself, but they collapsed under their own weight.
Followers of the alternative point of view argue that the Egyptians lifted the blocks through the air. The phenomenon of artificial levitation using ultrasound was discovered in 1979 at the California Institute of Technology, regardless of the Americans, this discovery was made in the Soviet Union. But then it was about objects no larger than a chicken egg, and stone blocks weighing several tons are not spoken of even now.

How old are they?
When it comes to the purpose of the pyramids, contradictions immediately arise about the time of their creation. The official theory is that they are about six thousand years old. However, there are at least three pieces of evidence that the tombs are much older. If you plot the location of the pyramids on the map, you can see that they repeat the bends of the Nile River, but are located at a great distance from it (13 kilometers). Wouldn't it be logical to assume that the pyramids were once built directly along the banks of the Nile? The river gradually changed its course, but in order to get so far from the pyramids, it would take much more than six thousand years.
“The Great Pyramid was built on the site of a much more ancient structure,” independent Egyptologists say. Inside it is a narrow passage that goes deep underground. Much indicates that this move was created in ancient times, in the so-called pre-dynastic period.
The foundation of the second pyramid is even older than the foundation of the Cheops pyramid. All this suggests that the traditional ideas about the time of the creation of the pyramids are not entirely correct. The version of the Sphinx researcher John West speaks more precisely about this. The huge stone body of the Sphinx is covered with traces of flowing streams of water. It is known that the Sahara Desert was a green savanna about 10 thousand years ago, it was then that these traces remained on the Sphinx.
And the most fantastic theory, while claiming to be true, like everyone else, says that the Sphinx is about 36 thousand years old.
Cosmology of the ancients
People have been trying to decipher the inscriptions on the walls of the pyramids for a very long time. And although most of the manuscripts are believed to have been solved, much of what the Egyptians left us remains unknown. Deciphering the inscriptions is a very difficult work, scientists have counted four thousand hieroglyphs, and each sign has several meanings. To understand what is at stake, you need to learn to see the different levels of meaning.
In 1822, the French scientist Francois Champollion and the English scientist Thomas Jung deciphered the hieroglyphs on the Rosetta Stone. Even then, Champollion said that his translation was incomplete, and hieroglyphs could mean something more than sounds and words. Lert Scrampton, a decryption software developer, agrees. He says that hieroglyphs have the properties of abbreviations and, when combined with other hieroglyphs, acquire a certain meaning. The scientist claims that the forms of some hieroglyphs are borrowed from cosmology. The sun is indicated by a circle with a dot, the moon is indicated by a crescent. The inscriptions tell about the ideas of the Egyptians about the change of day, the seasons, the position of the Earth. The largest number of records is devoted to the observation of celestial bodies, the main objects were the Moon, the Sun, the stars Sirius and Orion.
But the most amazing thing is that the Egyptians' ideas about the structure of the world were by no means primitive. So, it turned out that they were familiar with the concept of the atom and energy. Lairt Scrampton is convinced that the study of ancient Egyptian cosmology may interest specialists in "string theory".
Modern physics has only recently been able to answer the question about the number of elementary particles - there are more than 200 of them, and the latest studies of Egyptian hieroglyphs say that ancient scientists knew this and called a more accurate figure - 266. Scrampton concludes that the contemporaries of the pyramids possessed such knowledge that which our science is only approaching.
An interesting fact is that the Egyptians, who so carefully prepared their pharaohs for the afterlife, did not have such a concept as "death" in their language. Modern interpreters come across a hieroglyph previously interpreted as "death" in the records of the movement of the sun and stars, where it means "westward movement." The Egyptians believed in the immortality of the soul, they identified the events taking place in heaven with earthly events. As the sun hid in the west every day and revived in the east, the star Sirius disappeared from the sky for 70 days, and then reappeared, “resurrected”, so the human soul did not end its journey, but temporarily “went west”. Knowing about the amazing development of the ancient Egyptian civilization, one can doubt that these were only religious beliefs.
In one thing, scientists agree absolutely: the work on deciphering the code of the pyramids is not finished, the information stored in the stone for thousands of years has yet to be extracted.
