Lake Crater, located in the US state of Oregon, has its own unusual mystery - a nine-meter log that has been floating vertically throughout the lake for 100 years, but has not rotted or drowned to this day.
The age of the log itself, scientists estimate at 450 years, and perhaps it has been floating on the lake since the time of its formation. In written sources about the log was first written in 1902, then the lake became a National Park and the unusual log was written about in a publication dedicated to this event.
The log is 9 meters long and 1 meter wide. Its upper part protrudes 1 meter 20 centimeters above the water surface.
The log is constantly moving around the lake, its upper part is cracked and burned in the sun, but this does not affect its buoyancy in any way. Tourists have nicknamed the log "Grandfather of the Lake" and many come here specially to see this amazing phenomenon with their own eyes.
