In one of the popular English-speaking social networks, someone recently posted a question to law enforcement officers, which sounded like this: "Have you ever traveled to people's homes for reasons related to paranormal activity?"

Oddly enough, there were a lot of responses. It turned out that such calls to police stations are not uncommon.

Here is just one of the stories:

“Once we were summoned to a house where one of the tenants, apparently, was not himself. At the indicated address we were met by a woman who looked about 50 years old. She cried and said that her 20-year-old son was under the influence of an unknown drug - the guy flatly refused to enter his own bedroom, claiming that some elderly stranger had hanged himself there.

The woman said that she herself is terribly afraid to go there, because drug addicts and all sorts of suspicious persons are constantly in his room, so she did not undertake to say whether her son was telling the truth or it was just a figment of his sick imagination.

We talked to her son - he was clearly under the influence of some drugs. According to him, the spirit of a certain girl forbade him to enter the room in which her father hanged himself. And he also said that the hanged man was wearing an officer's uniform. I looked around the bedroom and, naturally, did not find any dead there. When I was about to share the results of my examination with the addict's mother, one of our elderly officers called me aside.

He said that he remembered this house and this room. Once he had to take part in a suicide investigation - an elderly military man really hanged himself, and it seems to be in this room. He didn't remember all the details, so I went into the computer database and found this file. And what do you think - everything was confirmed. The suicide was a World War II veteran. He really hanged himself many years ago in his military uniform."

When people are in danger, they usually call the police. But sometimes this danger is of such a strange nature that the police are simply lost. We have already written about one case when police officers had to go on a "paranormal" case. Below you will find several more similar stories shared by the servants of the law.

Exorcism in Indianapolis

Indianapolis-based Latoya Ammons, the three and her children, rose to fame last week when many publications around the world published a blood-curdling story of obsession and exoccism witnessed by police and social workers.

Police Captain Charles Austin said that at first he thought the Ammons were lying to get attention or for some other purpose. But after visiting the "possessed" house, his opinion changed to the exact opposite.

DCS specialist Valerie Washington and healthcare professional Willie Walker said they saw with their own eyes Ammons' 9-year-old son walking on walls and ceilings and then sinking to the floor. At the same time, he had a "sinister grin" on his face, as Washington wrote in her report. In addition, the same report describes how the youngest, 7-year-old child Ammons spoke in a “low demonic voice”, rolling his eyes, growling and grinning, and then fell unconscious.

Police captain investigating the circumstances of his past life

Police Captain Robert Snow, now retired, has used his detective skills to investigate a paranoid phenomenon that he was initially extremely skeptical about.

Once, Snow came across a book about how, under hypnosis, people recalled the details of their "past life." This seemed curious to him, and he decided to try hypnosis on himself, although he did not believe in any reincarnation.

Since he was in the service of investigating murders, he used his detective skills to investigate the circumstances of his past life.

Snow was completely dumbfounded when it turned out that under hypnosis he was recounting the details of the life of a little-known artist named Carroll Backwith. Moreover, under hypnosis, he even saw and managed to describe one of the paintings of this artist.

“I have been investigating my past life for two years and have collected so much information that whether it was a criminal investigation, there could be no talk of a plea agreement. The defense would have no chance,”he wrote in his book Finding Carroll Backwith.

Haunted House Calls

Snow began asking colleagues if they had to deal with anything paranormal in the service. “Two police officers said that they were once summoned to a house, the owners of which were very frightened and assured that a ghost lived next door to them. Arriving at the address, they really saw something very strange: around the house, which the neighbors pointed to, objects suddenly for no apparent reason rose into the air. After discussing the situation with the leadership, they decided not to spread much about this case and sent a priest to a strange house to conduct a consecration ceremony."

Another police officer told Snow that during the shootout he had a so-called “out-of-body experience” - he saw himself and others from somewhere above.

Ghost train

The police officer, who did not want to disclose his name, recounted two incidents from his practice:

In 2007, he went on a call to the death of a frightened family, who suddenly began to hear the sound of a train outside their old farmhouse, which was not close to the railway.

“There are no railways within a radius of many miles. We wondered for a long time where this sound could come from, but then suddenly realized that we had used old rails to decorate the footpath behind our house,”the owners said.

Get out of this house

The same policeman told the following story, which at first seemed to him a banal squabble between neighbors.

The woman, whom he characterizes as intelligent and trustworthy, said that she often heard a man's voice coming from a nearby house: "Get out of this house." She recently moved to the area and thought she was annoying her neighbor for some reason.

Then there were several more strange incidents. For example, she suddenly discovered that the cans of soda in her kitchen were inexplicably crumpled. The woman decided that perhaps a neighbor was shooting at them with pneumatic weapons. However, after examining these banks, the policeman said that no one had fired at them.

Then they both went to the house of a neighbor, from whose direction a malevolent voice came, demanding to "get out." It turned out that two elderly ladies lived there, and they had nothing against their new neighbor.

When the officer told them about the mysterious male voice, the old women were horrified. They said that the previous tenant of the house also complained about the voice, which demanded that he leave the house until the tenant died after taking a horse dose of sleeping pills.
