For almost a quarter of a century, inexplicable things have been happening in the building of the Silnitskiy KFOR: either the music will play by itself, then the doors will suddenly slam shut on a windless day

EMPLOYEES of the House of Culture complain: from extraneous sounds sometimes goosebumps, here almost no one is ever left alone, and some even claim that they have personally seen a ghost.

The House of Culture is located in an old building - the former estate of the Lisovsky family, who owned the local lands in the 18th-19th centuries. The last owner of the estate, according to archival data, was Maria Lisovskaya. Old-timers, who found the little girl during her lifetime, said that she was famous for her wayward character: once she forced local woodcutters to carry ten kilometers of huge logs on her because they illegally cut wood. If we talk about the further fate of Lisovskaya, then after the revolution she hastened to leave Bliznitsa. The Bolsheviks turned the abandoned building into a commune, albeit not for long: already during the Great Patriotic War, a military hospital was located here, and after that - a boarding school for the disabled, based on this place until the end of the 80s. Then the estate was empty for several years, and only in 1994 the children's art school and the House of Culture moved here.

It was from this moment that some inexplicable devilry began to happen.

FIRST Director of the Silnitskiy KFOR Lidia Kolycheva recalls an incident that happened right on the eve of the opening:

- A commission from Polotsk should have come to us with a check to see the readiness of the building. While I was leaving for a bite to eat, guests arrived and even managed to inspect the rooms. There was only the auditorium, which they could not get into, because I had locked it before leaving. I came, I turn the key in the lock several times, the door does not lend itself. The chairman of our collective farm Yevgeny Kimstach came to my aid, but nothing came of it either. The example was followed by the rest of the auditors, though also without result. They thought that the mechanism was broken, and they parted. After the delegation left, I tried to get into the hall again, and, lo and behold, the door opened without any problems. The lock was in perfect order, and we still use the same key. Mysticism, not otherwise.

Further more. The workers of the House of Culture began to constantly hear some kind of extraneous sounds: either footsteps when there is no one in the building, then the rumble of breaking glass and falling objects, or the creak of doors. In a word - horror. True, all this was still flowers in comparison with what happened later.

All this could be attributed to the special impressionability of the villager, if not for one weighty "but" - almost all the inhabitants of the former estate hear such sounds. For example, artistic director Vladimir Piskunov. One day, he stayed at work to get his documents in order. At about nine o'clock in the evening, when no one was left in the KFOR except him, someone started knocking on the office. The artistic director invited an unknown guest to come in, but he was in no hurry to do this. Then Vladimir himself went to the door, but when he opened it, he did not find anyone. In such a short period of time, a person would not have been able to leave the building unnoticed, even if he were even Usain Bolt himself. Moreover, as soon as Vladimir returned to his place, there was another knock on the door. This happened several more times, but there was no one in the corridor. Already in the morning, employees discovered an open attic and a closed lock hanging on a hinge nearby. True, they did not find anything above. It became clear that there were definitely no people here at night.

The last doubts about the veracity of the ghost's dwelling here were dispelled when a person first managed to meet him. Once plumbers came to Bliznitsa to check the water meters in the basement, but they categorically refused to go inside, because rumors about a local ghost had long gone beyond the agro-town. As a result, Lydia Mikhailovna went there alone, and what she saw shocked her:

- I go down the stairs, reach out to the switch and clearly see a white silhouette in front of me, which made a characteristic sound "ah-x". Despite my sore legs, I ran so fast that in a few seconds I was on the street.

Olga Chobot, a former librarian and now the owner of the Babin Kut Museum, which is located on the second floor of the House of Culture, also felt the presence of otherworldly forces. The villager says that the ghost began to haunt her from the first day of work, and once she even managed to see his shadow: a tall and massive silhouette. True, he quickly disappeared. The next meeting had to wait six months. It happened in the summer, when Olga Stanislavovna went down to fetch water:

- I got the impression that someone was walking behind, but, turning around, I did not notice anyone. When I approached the second flight of stairs, I felt someone's hands. They squeezed me so tightly that I could not even bend. While standing rooted to the spot, I remembered: dad told me that during the war his grandmother heated the stove with wooden crosses from the cemetery. After that, evil spirits started up in her house, and in order to drive them out, she began to swear heavily. Remembering this, I blurted out everything I knew, and the ghost let me go.

Judging by the stories of local residents, many crossed with him here. For example, a poltergeist broke into the closed doors to the teacher of the music school Tatyana Kuksenok, and the musician Sergei Voronov constantly hears the piano playing, moreover, the professional one, when there is no one in the building. There were even attempts to meet the ghost. Once upon a time, one villager was making repairs in the estate: a former "Afghan", a strong and strong-willed person. He was scared, but he decided to sit like a man with a poltergeist: he poured him a glass of vodka, and began to communicate with him. What this led to is unknown, but the builder did not look at the KFOR anymore.

Whose spirit lives in the House of Culture, it's hard to say. Everyone here has their own hypothesis. Some say that this is a phantom of Pan Yakov Lisovsky, the second - his daughter, who committed suicide because of unhappy love. Someone believes that the ghost is none other than a musician soldier who could have died in a hospital during the war. Others are sure that this is an accordion grandfather from a boarding school for the disabled who played for the local children on the balcony …

As for the activity of the poltergeist, most of all he loves to smoke on the ground floor. Especially near the toilet where the morgue used to be. Vera Anatolyevna says that priests have already been invited here, but there have been no changes.

BEFORE leaving for Bliznitsa, I was sure that I would spend the evening here, and if necessary, even the night, to personally verify the existence of otherworldly forces. However, this desire soon vanished. Throughout the entire time, the feeling of the presence of someone else did not leave: as if someone was constantly looking in the back. And when we descended from the second floor, a chill ran through my body. To be honest, I underwent such a panic attack that I wanted to leave this building faster and never come back.

By the way, experts from the Ufokom organization (roughly speaking, ghost hunters) conducted research in the building. The recorded data does hint at the presence of the paranormal, but some things are understandable. For example, a burst of microwave radiation that could occur due to poorly conducted grounding. Or the sounds of musical instruments that local workers constantly hear. This fact is explained by the influence of contextual factors that develop under the influence of the stories of other people. In fact, a banal self-hypnosis. Perhaps everything is true, but in any case, everyone will remain with their own truth.
