It is difficult for unbelievers to believe that we are living in the last days of earth's history. This is what the Holy Scripture says: “First of all, know that in the last days there will be insolent abusers, walking according to their own lusts and saying: where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers began to die, from the beginning of creation, everything remains the same. (2 Peter 3: 3-4)
The coming of the antichrist is a sign of the end. This is what the Holy Scripture says: “Children! recent times. And as you heard that the Antichrist will come, and now there are many Antichrists, then we will Know from what is the last time. (1 John 2:18)
Didn't Jesus say when the end would come? This is what the Holy Scripture says: “And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)
People posing as Jesus will try to deceive the people in the last days. This is what the Holy Scripture says: “Then if someone says to you: here, Christ is here, or there, - do not believe. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and give great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24: 23-24)
The signs are foretold in the sun, moon and stars. This is what Holy Scripture says: “And suddenly, after the tribulation of those days, the sun will darken, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken; then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven; and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24: 29-30)
What morale will characterize society in the last days? This is what the Holy Scripture says: “Know this that in the last days perilous times will come. For people will be proud, greedy, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, ungodly, unfriendly, irreconcilable, slanderers, incontinent, cruel, not loving good, traitors, arrogant, pompous, more voluptuous than God, having but his forces forsaken. Get away from those. (2 Timothy 3: 1-5)
The increase in knowledge is a sign of the last days. So says the Holy Scripture: “But you, Daniel, hide these words and seal this book until the last time; many will read it, and knowledge will increase. (Daniel 12: 4)
What other signs of the last days are mentioned in the Bible? This is what Holy Scripture says: “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, but on earth there will be despondency of peoples and bewilderment; and the sea will clamor and revolt; people will die of fear and expectation of calamities coming to the universe, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. Talking about peace and security is a sign of the last days. This is what the Holy Scripture says: “For you yourself know for certain that the day of the Lord will come as a thief at night. For when they say: 'peace and security', then suddenly destruction will overtake them, just as torment in childbirth befell one who has it in the womb, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5: 2-3)
What should people do when they see all this happening around them? This is what the Holy Scripture says: “So keep on the watch, because you do not know at what hour your Lord will come.
