The castle called Hampton Court was created in 1515 at the initiative of Cardinal Walsie. Subsequently, the castle became the property of Henry VIII. As you know, the castle was presented as a gift by the spiritual father to the king, with the hope of returning the monarch's favor. The phantom priest Walsa first appeared in 1966, and has been met on numerous occasions since then.
The fifth lawful wife of King Henry VIII, named Catherine Howard, had an unfortunate role in the secret war for domination between the Catholics close to the king and the followers of Protestantism.
In 1540, after Catherine was 19 years old, her Catholic relatives entered into her marriage to the monarch. Followers of Protestantism began to accuse the queen of immoral acts. And after a two-year period - on February 13, 1542, Catherine was executed - by chopping off her head. Her phantom, with heartbreaking screams, runs through the so-called Gallery of Ghosts. The phantom seems to make you remember the day when in 1541 the queen was captured, and she, freed from the guards, ran up the stairs, loudly begging the king's wife to have mercy on her.
In 1918, the Gallery of Ghosts was restored, and for some period the phantom of Catherine stopped appearing. However, later the artist, who was copying one of the tapestries, suddenly looked at the hand with the ring. This hand has repeatedly appeared near the tapestry. This very ring was once owned by Catherine.
