Atharvaveda is the oldest collection of Indian spells, witchcraft conspiracies. Written around the 1st millennium BC. e., it belongs to the earliest, Vedic period of ancient Indian literature. Like other magical systems, Atharvaveda pays great attention to plants that have healing and supernatural properties, but which can manifest themselves only under certain conditions. Atharvan must know which plant matches each spell, but that is not enough. It is necessary to be able to conjure the spirit of the plant, perform a ritual purification and pray. There are special treatments for coughs, paralysis, blindness, and other ailments. However, diseases caused by demons must be fought with the help of the magical formulas set forth in the Atharva Veda.
If the cause of the illness is unknown, generic medicines should be used. People who consider themselves healthy can use the elixirs of life or spells that strengthen the immune system. The Atharva Veda says that any disease can be cured with the help of spells.
The treatment of physical illnesses with the help of mental influence, which is just beginning to be practiced in Europe, is an essential part of the art of healing in the Atharvaveda. Also in the recommendations of the book you can read that a woman experiencing labor pains should be constantly in a mood of joy, which will cause "soft labor". People with tuberculosis should be cared for by relatives and friends and "please those who are suffering with music, jokes and fragrances." For some diseases, alcoholic beverages are even recommended, which are usually prohibited. Faith, shradda is an essential factor in healing magic in the Atharva Veda. Akasha, or the main force
In the ancient Indian magic of the Atharva Veda, along with the appeal to gods, spirits and spells against demons, it is explained how to use a certain mysterious magical power. This power seems to stand aside from the gods and demons and obeys only the initiate, the magician-atharvan. This is an unusual teaching about akasha - spirit-life, spirit-force - a concept that is difficult to explain. I remember only the vis vitalis ("vital force") of the medieval magicians of Europe. They came close to what the Hindus had known for centuries before them.
In general, Akasha is a power possessed and used by all spirits. Moreover, this is the source of all power. According to the yogis, there is only one substance, or force, from which everything else comes. The laws of nature, for example, gravity or the life development of a person, animal or plant, are subject to other, higher rules. These laws are not separate, independent from each other phenomena. They are just different forms of akasha.
The Atharvans equate matter and energy and consider them simply different forms of akasha, of which, ultimately, both are composed.
By the way, physics confirms the transitions from matter to energy and vice versa. On one of the stages, Akasha gives rise to animal life, on the other, it determines the movement of the planets. One form of akasha can be transformed into another. For example, in order to neutralize the gravity of the Earth, it is necessary to “charge” the chosen object with a lighter form of akasha.
