A resident of Great Britain celebrated her centenary and called beer and cookies the secret of her longevity. This was reported by the news portal BBC News.

Eileen Maher, who lives in a nursing home in Blackpool, Lancashire, had a centenary party. In addition to the traditional cake and sherry, her favorite beer and biscuits with vanilla cream were served on the table. It is these dishes that the woman considers the guarantee of her longevity. At the party, Maher took her first selfie and danced with her best friend's daughter.

“I didn't expect to have a party for my birthday, but it's very nice. Was great. I didn't get enough sleep, but I'll do it tomorrow,”the birthday girl shared her impressions.

“She is a special woman. We are constantly supplying beer for her. She loves him very much,”said Elaine Wright, Nursing Home Manager.

At 33, Maher came to the resort town of Blackpool for her honeymoon with her husband, a jazz pianist, and stayed there forever. She ended up in a nursing home only in May 2015 after the death of her husband.
