Vaccinations are still considered in our country to be something of a dangerous witchcraft - how else to explain the fact that about 79% of Russians refuse to get vaccinated even against the common flu? And even with outbreaks of an epidemic, the number of conscientious citizens does not exceed 7%, the rest, apparently, rely on grandmother's methods of treatment. So what do vaccinations actually bring us and is it worth relying on vaccination as a panacea for all diseases?

Weak immunity

Vaccination still cannot be considered a panacea for all problems. And each person should think twice before deciding on the next injection: tests and a thorough check of contraindications by a therapist are required. For example, those whose immunity is weakened should not be vaccinated - but few know about it.

Flu shots

Almost every year, polyclinics invite people to get vaccinated against influenza. But the strain of this virus is constantly changing and it is not worth expecting that the vaccine will become a reliable protection against the disease. But children need to be vaccinated without fail, since they are the main distributors of the virus. We can say that by vaccinating children, we save the whole society from disease.

Why do we refuse

Unfortunately, many Russians for some reason refuse to vaccinate their children - we do not have social institutions that exactly explain the importance of this procedure. Meanwhile, the same encephalitis occurs once in a thousand cases of measles, and after vaccination against measles - only one case in a million people.

Difficulties of perception

Approximately ten years ago, English doctors mistakenly linked measles and mumps vaccinations with autism. As a result, the whole of Europe suffered: people began to refuse vaccination en masse, which led to the expected results. In 2011, a measles outbreak hit England, Scotland and Ireland. For 30 thousand affected children, there were 26 cases of encephalitis - they could not be cured.

Vaccines for children

Up to seven years of age, a child must be vaccinated against a number of diseases: viral hepatitis B, tuberculosis, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hemophilic infection, poliomyelitis, measles, rubella, mumps. Vaccination against chickenpox is highly desirable - children can have complications up to encephalitis.

Vaccines for adults

After the second vaccination against hepatitis A, immunity will remain for life. You need to be vaccinated against genotype B from 18 to 55 years old, from influenza - every year. Girls 18-25 years old should worry about rubella, diphtheria and tetanus require vaccination every 10 years.

The law is harsh

Under Russian law, each person is responsible for vaccinations himself. You decide if you (and your child) need another shot or not. But before making this decision, remember the official statistics of the WHO: measles encephalitis takes the life of a child every 15 seconds around the world. But the solution could be the most common vaccination, which can be done in the most ordinary clinic.
