Scientists from Harvard University in the United States previously conducted a study with pregnant women who were given various beneficial food supplements, and now they analyzed the level of mental development of babies. It turned out that the use of certain substances actually increases the chances of giving birth to an intelligent child.
The first experiment, which took place from 2001 to 2004, was that the expectant mothers were divided into two groups: one was given multiple micronutrient supplements (MMNs), the tablets included folic acid, riboflavin, niacin and vitamins B12, C and D, and the other is only iron-folic acid supplements.
And now, after the birth of children and the assimilation of certain knowledge by them, the scientists decided to check their IQ level and compare the results. It turned out that those children whose mothers also used MMNs trace elements had more developed procedural memory (responsible for motor skills) and scored more points on the IQ test. And it is worth noting that the level of development of these children is equal to the additional year of study for their peers.
