British researchers argue that you don't have to go to the gym to build up. It is enough just to think and imagine exercises in the head.
Scientists believe that instead of wasting time and money on gyms, you can just sit on a chair and imagine lifting weights. It sounds really implausible, but judging by the tests of the research group led by Michael Mosley, which are outlined on the Daily Mail website, it works.
Experts conducted an experiment in which they were helped by 7 volunteers. For a couple of weeks, they thought for 15 minutes every day and imagined how to lift a weighty barbell, or how to push a car.
The results surprised everyone without exception. It turned out that the level of physical fitness of volunteers increased by an average of 8%. It is worth noting that the experiment involved not only healthy people, but also people with disabilities, who simply simply cannot go in for sports. In some cases, physical strength indicators increased by 33%, which is simply not believed.
But neurophysiologists still managed to substantiate the results obtained. When the brain sends nerve impulses to the muscles, they react anyway, even without considering the real lack of physical activity.
