The supercomputer IBM Watson was proposed to be nominated for the US presidency. According to the initiative group, which outlined the pre-election program of artificial intelligence on its website, a machine is capable of making more balanced and objective political decisions than a human. In particular, IBM actively taught him medicine - as a result, for example, nurses at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York) in 90 percent of cases follow his instructions.
“We believe Watson's unique ability to structure information and make transparent and informed decisions make it an ideal candidate for the presidency,” the website says.
However, for a machine devoid of human emotions and predilections, the election program turned out to be very radical. The supercomputer is campaigning for universal government health insurance, free higher education and the legalization of soft drugs. In addition, Watson requires an early transition to clean energy (based on renewable resources).
IBM officials declined to confirm Watson's participation in the 2016 elections, but said nothing about the possibility of such a step in the future. “IBM Watson is not in the presidential race. At the moment, Watson is busy with other important things: it helps doctors to improve the health system, and teachers - to improve the education system,”they said.
