In Sanskrit, mudra is the ritual position of the hands. Since ancient times, people have used various combinations of finger positions for healing, entering certain states of consciousness and meditation.
As with any teaching, there are different levels of approach in the practice of mudras.
There is a bio-energy approach based on the knowledge of the projection of energy meridians on the human body. The six main meridians end on three fingers. Closing the meridians in a certain way creates a configuration of energy flow between organs, and, accordingly, affects the state of these organs - and human health.
The esoteric approach is based on the knowledge that there are projections of energy centers and bodies onto the fingers. The impact on the energy bodies through their projections onto the fingers leads to the activation of the functions of this body. In this tutorial, we take an esoteric approach to the practice of mudras.
How can certain positions of fingers and hands affect the body, emotions, consciousness?
The energy centers of the cocoon - chakras - are projected onto the fingers. Using the finger in mudra affects the work of the corresponding chakra and the energy body, of which it is a projection.
The thumb corresponds to the crown chakra (Sahasrara), and the use of this finger in combination will activate its work and include a person in the system.

In almost all mudras, the thumb is involved, which once again confirms the understanding of the fact that a person's life and health is primarily determined by his inclusion in the system.
• The index finger corresponds to two chakras - the chakra of the third eye and subconsciousness (Ajna) and the chakra of consciousness (Vishudha). Ajna is projected onto the lower phalanx of the finger, and Vishuddha is projected onto the upper phalanx (farthest from the palm).
• The middle finger corresponds to the heart chakra (Anahata).
• The ring finger correlates with two chakras of the body at once - the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) and the sexual chakra (Svadhisthana). Manipura is projected onto the lower phalanx of the finger, and Svadhisthana is projected onto the upper (farthest from the palm).
• The little finger corresponds to the sacral (Muladhara) chakra.
It also matters which hand is used to perform this or another mudra.
The right hand is positive (Yang) - giving or active, and the left hand - negative (Yin) - perceiving or shielding. By acting on the chakra, we can influence certain functions for which the chakra is responsible.
Each chakra is a projection of an energy body that has a specific function in the external world. Each chakra works in a spectrum of a frequency range. There are two resonant foci in the frequency range of each chakra. A lower resonant focus determines the impact on various organs of the body and controls the body, and a higher resonant focus controls the function of subtle bodies.
By changing the frequency of one or the other resonant focus, we influence either the organs or the subtle body controlled by this chakra. The functions of each chakra can be classified according to the effect on the body and the effect on the subtle body corresponding to the chakra.
Muladhara chakra - sacrum area
Body control: the lowest chakra. Regulates the work of the physical body. All our bones, tissues, blood, lymph, etc., are under the control of this energy center. If the Muladhara chakra does not work properly, problems arise with the physical body.
Subtle body control: responsible for all structures of our physical body. A sense of security, stability. Building a base of life is sexual relationships as such.
Svadhisthana chakra - pubic area
Body control: responsible for the genitourinary system, hormonal system, immunity, dependent on the neuro-hormonal background.
Controlling the subtle body: the etheric body, is responsible for sexual relations in the aspect of childbirth, relationships with children.
Manipura chakra - solar plexus area
Body control: responsible for the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, spleen, immunity, built on the stability of the astral body.
Subtle body control: the astral body is responsible for building social relationships. As well as relationships with parents. If it does not work well, then the person will have constant problems in social life and family.
Anahata chakra - region of the heart
Body control: responsible for the work of the heart, lungs, bronchi. Fears and depression result from a malfunction of this chakra.
Controlling the subtle body: the frequency of the “Animal Mental”, is responsible for building loving and friendly (enemy) relationships.
Vishuddha chakra - base of the neck
Body control: responsible for the organs of the throat, neck, thyroid gland.
Subtle body control: responsible for the human mind. This is our personal, self-reflective consciousness "I". At this frequency, people exchange thought forms, this is the chakra of communication, building relationships based on mutual interests. If it does not work well, then the person will have problems with learning, cognition and communication.
Ajna chakra - the area between the eyebrows - the third eye
Body control: eyes, subcortical structures, hearing organs.
Control of the subtle body: this is the frequency of our subconscious - the consciousness of "not-I" - the frequency of the organs of the brain. This chakra is responsible for extrasensory capabilities, intuition. If it does not work well, then a person will have eternal failures along the path of life.
Sahasrara chakra - the area of the crown of the head
Body control: highest frequency chakra. This is the initial frequency of our mental body (super-I consciousness). It communicates with the planetary consciousness of the Earth. Communication with egregors.
Controlling the subtle body: 4 mental body, forms the "super-I consciousness". Carries out a connection between a person and the system (planetary consciousness). If this chakra does not work well, then the person will have problems with life motivation.
Thus, we can create certain configurations of fingers, thus activating the work of these or those chakras. By activating various chakras, we activate energy bodies and influence the Cocoon at different levels: physical body, etheric body, astral and mental bodies.
The connection of open fingers (impact on the pad of the finger or phalanx) activates the corresponding chakras and bodies, pressed against the palm (closed finger) produces an inhibitory and calming effect on their functions. If the fingers are not actively involved in the mudra, then the chakras corresponding to them work in their usual mode.
There are hundreds of different mudras that affect health, emotions, consciousness. We suggest that you practice some of them, which, according to the experience gained, will help you improve and maintain a harmonious energy state.
