Biologists from the UK have shown that changes in the rhythms of sleep and wakefulness have a much stronger effect on the body of women. It is possible to notice this even by carefully looking at labor productivity or the quality of the work performed. This is especially true for those women who work in shifts and are forced to work at night. Men tolerate such a shake more easily.

The researchers conducted an experiment with 16 men and 18 women who were exposed to conditions that resemble the effects of jet lag or shift work. Every three hours, the subjects performed certain tests for attention, memory, motor skills, and recorded their own feelings about mood, drowsiness, and effort during work. During sleep, scientists examined the active areas of the brain using an electroencephalogram.

The results of the experiment showed that a change in rhythms has a strong effect on a person's well-being. Men suffer a little more from this. A change in the circadian rhythm for women, in addition to well-being, also carries a significant decrease in all opportunities, especially in the morning hours, which, as a rule, fall on the end of the work shift.

Why there is such a significant difference between the functional activity of the male and female brain, it will be possible to say only after a comprehensive study of all indicators and spectral analyzes.
