The believers in the Vladimir region were in awe of a surprising discovery in one of the small villages with the telling name of Eden

Eden, as the biblical tradition testifies (Book of Genesis, chapter 2, verse 8), is the Garden of Eden located in the East. This word sounds similar in Hebrew, and in Arabic, and in English, and in Russian.

So, in the village of Edemskoye, the territory near the local Orthodox church was put in order - - old trees were put in order. It was here that one of the ancient lime trees revealed the image of the Savior.

A crucifix with a figurine of Christ, as if fused with a tree trunk, is now installed at the altar of the temple. The image was placed on a podium covered with red velvet. Every day more and more believers come to worship him in the temple.

“Of course it's a miracle. Everyone is clear, everyone understands, everyone knows - and everyone bows before him,”says Zoya Gudkova, a resident of the village of Novka.

The rector of the church, Father Paul, does not call the appearance of this image a miracle. The crucifixion was kept in a century-old linden tree.

“There was such delight when we opened this tree as a kind of diptych, as a kind of icon. You know, there is a triptych - three halves of one icon. And here is a diptych - here are two halves of the icon,”says the rector of the Church of All Saints Father Pavel.

Meanwhile, judging by the age of the tree, it hid the figure of the Savior for at least a hundred years. This is what the parish thinks.

The crucifix was found in a linden tree. She grew up in the village cemetery at the All Saints Church. It happened on the eve of the patronal feast - the 320th anniversary of the All Saints Church, when the churchyard was being put in order.

The Church of All Saints in the village of Eden was erected in 1691. Parishioners, preparing for the holiday, removed old, sick trees from the cemetery. And when they cut one of them, the face of the Savior appeared in the trunk of a centenary linden tree.

“This is how the tree would open up, and Christ came out into the light. In our souls we understood that it was a shrine. At first, we did not know how to react with joy and delight and surprise,”says Father Pavel.

The parish is now wondering how this image got there.

“It looks like the crucifixion that was on the cross. Perhaps it was deformed during some kind of repair or something happened there. Apparently, some person did not want this crucifixion to be trampled on, and they hung it on a young tree. And it grew up with the tree. But that was more than a hundred years ago, if not 150,”says the wife of the rector of the church, Matushka Natalya.

In the village of Eden, however, they say that it is not so important how the appearance of a crucifix in a hundred-year-old tree can be explained. After all, the very acquisition of this image became a miracle for the parishioners.
