According to sketchy and, to be honest, not too credible information, in 1983 a group of scientists associated with radical religious organizations conducted an illegal experiment in an unnamed institution.

Scientists have put forward the theory that a person completely devoid of feelings and stimuli from the external environment will be able to feel the presence of God. They believed that the five senses block our awareness of eternity, and without them a person can truly establish mental contact with God. An elderly man who declared he had "nothing to lose" was the only volunteer test subject.

To shield his consciousness from all feelings and sensations, scientists performed a complex operation, during which the parts of the brain responsible for consciousness were separated from all nerve endings. Eventually, although subject fully retained the ability to move, he could not see, hear, feel, smell, or pain. Deprived of the ability to communicate and even feel the outside world, he was left alone with his thoughts.

Scientists tracked his condition, and he described his state of mind in inarticulate sentences that he himself could not hear. Four days later, he reported that he heard hiss of unintelligible voices in his head. Two days later, the man shouted that his deceased wife was talking to him - and, moreover, he could answer her.

The scientists were intrigued, but they finally believed him only when he began to list the names of their deceased relatives, whom he did not know about before. He had information that he could only get from dead spouses or parents of scientists. At this stage, most scientists refused to continue the experiment.

After a week of mental conversations with the dead, subject stated that the voices had become unbearable. Whenever he was awake, hundreds of voices entered his consciousness, refusing to leave him alone. He often threw himself against the wall, trying in vain to cause pain. He begged the scientists to give him sleeping pills so that he could escape from the voices in his head in his sleep. It only worked for three days, after which he had violent nightmares. Subject repeated over and over that he saw and heard dead people in his dreams.

Subject later began to scratch at their blind eyes, hoping to establish at least some contact with the outside world. He was hysterical and said that the voices of the dead deafen him and become hostile, telling him about the underworld and the end of the world. At some point, he shouted: "No heaven, no forgiveness!" - for five hours in a row. He constantly asked for euthanasia, but scientists were confident that very soon he would come into contact with God, as expected.

Subject lost the ability to speak well one day later. Having apparently lost his mind, he began to bite off the flesh from his hand. Scientists tied him to a table so he wouldn't kill himself. Subject stopped screaming and struggling after a couple of hours. He stared blindly at the ceiling, tears flowing silently from his eyes.

For two weeks, scientists had to inject him intravenous fluid due to the fact that he constantly sobbed and because of this dehydrated the body. Finally, he turned his head to the side and whispered, "I spoke to God and he left us." At the same moment, all his life processes stopped. The cause of death has not been established.
