The Sina portal reported that scientists have developed a drug that is able to suppress the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in 7 days. This discovery was made by scientists from the Yu-An hospital, which is located in the capital of China, Beijing.
This drug has successfully passed clinical trials, scientists have high hopes for it in helping in the treatment of HIV.
The developer of the drug, Professor Xie Dong, said that this drug has no analogues in the world and the first is able to absolutely suppress the human immunodeficiency virus for such a long period of time. An HIV patient is injected with this newest drug only once a week, which greatly reduces the pressure of the drug on other organs of the patient, in particular on his liver. The scientist noted that eighty-one percent of the tested patients with HIV, after the administration of the drug, there is a decrease in the concentration of this virus in the blood, and also significantly increases immunity.
The State Administration of the People's Republic of China for the Control of Medicines and Foods launched the registration procedure for the newest medicine on July 18 this year.
