This is a unique collider complex with the beautiful name "Nika", and scientists from the Dubna science city near Moscow, the largest Russian center for nuclear physics research, intend to launch it by 2020, that is, it is quite possible that this project will start working in 2019. and even in 2018.
The leadership of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research announced all this the other day - as part of summing up the work in the outgoing year. More than three hundred scientists from 32 countries of the world are already taking part in the implementation of this large-scale project. According to plans, the Nika collider complex will allow nuclear physicists to recreate the unique state of matter before our universe was formed as a result of the so-called big bang. Or, at least, to understand how all this happened, since today there are many opponents of the well-known scenario of the formation of an endless divine world.
It is noteworthy that only a little more than a year has passed since the moment when the first stone was laid in the foundation of the collider complex, which gives scientists hope that the project will start working much earlier than planned.
Along with the complex, a factory of superheavy elements is also being prepared for commissioning, thanks to which, in the near future, scientists from the science city of the Moscow region will begin to synthesize new elements of the famous periodic table, which, of course, were not there at the time of its creation, but which the great Russian scientist foresaw. For this, a special cyclotron is being created, which is as unique and powerful as the Nika collider complex. Here is what Academician of the Joint Institute Viktor Matveev says about all this:
