Some architects dream of their creations becoming part of nature. More and more attention is paid to the topic of ecology.
An interesting creative experiment was presented as part of the "eVolo-2017" competition. This is a futuristic skyscraper designed by South Korean architects. It was named "Dedication: Monument to the Giant".
The building will be used exclusively for office space and offices. Housing construction is not even considered theoretically.
A decayed tree becomes lighter and can collapse unexpectedly, and the skyscraper inside will help it resist. The mesh structure forms the outer layer, and the living bark continues to grow on top, 50 cm thick. The inner space is divided into zones: laboratories, classrooms, exhibition halls.
The essence of the experiment is not to promote the destruction of sequoias, but to save them. The tree can live for about 3000 years, reaching a height of 50-85 meters, with a trunk width of 6-8 meters. Unfortunately, over time, the core rots and dries out. The architects came up with an original way to save a tree - to turn it into a skyscraper.
The building will become a kind of "artificial heart". It will fill only the decayed space, the overall landscape will not be disturbed. The idea of the project is to stimulate people to interact with nature.
