Now the Red Planet is a cold, devastated world in which no one lives due to its unbearable conditions. But scientists believe that a long time ago Mars was inhabited by living creatures, and on its surface lakes or even whole oceans with warm water raged. True, there is very little evidence for this theory.
Recently, experts have found strong evidence that their theory is still correct. According to information provided by the Curiosity rover, the surface of the Red Planet contains 3 to 5 percent liquid, which is in a solid state of aggregation. But, apparently, in the depths of Mars there are real oases - huge lakes that exceed the size of the earth's water bodies. In fact, the amount of water on the ancient Red Planet was overwhelming.
As a result of a large-scale disaster, most of the moisture flew into space, and Mars turned into an arid desert, but only in appearance. The remaining water seeped deep into the ground, so now underground lakes can be located that are in no way inferior to the earth. Scientists intend to continue the search for solid evidence to finally dot the "i", proving the presence of water on Mars.
By the way, it can be used by future colonists, who, of course, will need liquid to drink. It would be wiser to drill wells than to supply water from Earth.
