The fog glowed with a bright pink light and mesmerized residents across the UK. An unusual phenomenon was that the sky was illuminated by an unusually bright pink light over the southwest regions of England.

People described the sight as "amazing," although some said they found the shade of the sky "creepy."

Jody Bandrick, who saw the pink fog in Stoke sub Hamdon, Somerset, said: “It was pretty amazing. It's not the first time I've seen fog, but I've never seen it - PINK!"

Emma Smith, a meteorologist at the Met Office, explained that the color was caused by light bouncing off various areas of fog and clouds, which can distort it and create different hues.

“It mostly happens as the sun rises, and depending on what kind of clouds are there, you quite often end up with strange colors,” she said.

On Friday morning, the pink fog disrupted a number of London airports as it loomed heavily over the capital, limiting visibility to a minimum.
