The Earth's atmosphere scatters blue, we see the Sun as yellow, not a white star. It's the same with the Moon, you should see it in orbit like this:
The color of the moon does not seem strange to us when it acquires such a reddish hue low above the horizon. Everyone understands that this distorts the Earth's atmosphere so much. So maybe it distorts the color and when it is high in the sky?
