Nina Hualpa, a Peruvian resident of Santos, died under a hail of stones as she chastised nature for the whims and outbursts of anger that blocked the only road connecting the city of Paucartambo with the outside world, La Republica reports. Local residents who happened to be nearby filmed the last minutes of the life of a 35-year-old Peruvian woman.

The incident took place at about 16:30 last Sunday, March 11, in the region of Cusco, with the capital of the same name Paucartambo is connected by a road that turned out to be under the rubble. The drivers and passengers of the cars blocked on the road went to inspect the landslide site, among them was Santos Nina Hualpa. Tired of the torrential rains, a woman who, according to eyewitnesses, was very drunk, climbed onto the formed embankment and began to chastise the rock (and nature in general) for such reckless behavior.

The woman ignored all the requests of her acquaintances to go downstairs or step aside, she was not frightened even by a small rockfall - the Peruvian woman continued to stand her ground. The tragic outcome was not long in coming - a roar was heard, and the second wave of the landslide covered the road and Santos Nin Hualpu.

Her body was found a day later, several tens of meters from the landslide site, and it took rescuers several more hours to remove it from under the stones. Due to the ongoing downpours and the threat of mudflows, the road currently remains closed.
