Cheryl Costa saw her first UFO at the age of 12, and this event, according to her, changed her whole future life, remaining in her memory forever. The ufologist recalls that then the sky was clear and blue, and a UFO just flew over it, stunning the girl with its appearance. Costa's interest in aliens increased significantly six years ago when she saw an article that talked about declining UFO sightings.
Something in that material hooked her and forced her to study the issue closely. At that time, the woman was sure that the article misinformed people and was written by order of the government in order to hide from the public the truth about the alien activity. It was from that moment that Cheryl began an active search for the truth.
Together with her companion, she analyzed and systematized a huge number of UFO reports from eyewitnesses. Their book, UFO Sightings Desk Reference, includes over 121,000 eyewitness observations from across the United States. There are no pictures in the text, just dry statistics on UFO sightings over the territory of the United States for 2001-2015. Cheryl is sure that in most cases people see very mundane things, but they mistake them for something mysterious for a variety of reasons. And such cases are about 93%. However, the remaining 7% are real UFO encounters that actually happened.
Costa now travels all over the country and talks about his research. In February 2018, she received the prestigious Congressional Scientist of the Year award and became the most respected UFO researcher in the United States of America. According to Costa, this award and recognition mean a lot to her, but first of all they confirm that her work is important and interesting to people.
