No one doubts that Patomsky crater is an anomalous zone. Animals prefer to bypass this mountain, and people feel uncomfortable in its surroundings, some even feel bad. Local residents are generally afraid to wander here, even by accident.

During a thunderstorm, fireballs or torches can sometimes be observed over the crater.

Patomsky crater is a "living" mountain. Experiments have shown that her stones move - rise and fall. Scientists are inclined to explain such a “stone life” by the large presence of water under the crater, which, freezing in winter, thaws in summer, which makes the crater change its shape.

The height of its outer rampart is about 70 m, and the diameter is -180 m. One of the main stunning mysteries of the Patom crater is its age. He is only about 250 years old! This means that it appeared in the 18th century. But how?

STRANGE METEORITE?

Of course, the meteorite version comes to mind first. True, scientists immediately noted that if it was a meteorite, then it was very strange. Firstly, it did not explode from hitting the ground, but went deep inside as a drill. The "nest" itself is not similar in shape to the traces of such space bombings from outer space. Secondly, it flew at an angle of 50-70 degrees - a completely atypical trajectory for meteorites arriving from our planetary system.

Based on this, it was suggested that a celestial body was brought from another star system, and it could well turn out to be a tiny fragment of a superheavy neutron star or even a quark - an even heavier and superdense object than a neutron star.

This quark can be the size of a speck of dust, but weighs as much as a car, and at a speed of several hundred kilometers per second is capable of not only hitting, but flashing through our planet. Such precedents have already happened. So some researchers are inclined to believe that in the Patom region, something crushing a quark meteorite, but with a lower density and greater size, collided with the Earth about 250 years ago. No one could have noticed this, since the places here are dense and practically not inhabited.

OTHER VERSIONS

There are other equally exciting versions of the formation of the Patomsky crater.

Those of the scientists who did not believe in the meteorite suggested that the crater was the result of a spontaneous chain reaction of uranium ores under the crater. In fact, an atomic explosion occurred underground, and the shock wave carried multi-ton stones, like fluffs, to the surface.

The idea is good, but studies of the background radiation have shown an amazing thing - the radiation background at Patomsky crater is incredibly low - 11 microroentgens. Which is two times lower than in the vicinity of the crater. And much lower than in ordinary cities, for example, in Moscow, this background is 15 microroentgens. From this it followed that the idea of an atomic underground explosion was untenable.

Another version suggests that the Patomsky crater may turn out to be … a kimberlite pipe, either very young, or not fully matured, "squeezed" to the surface by deep processes. Yakutia is an area of diamonds, so anything can happen.

EGG FROM THE NEST

Local Yakuts do not call the Patomsky crater a “nest” for nothing. As in any nest, this mountain also has its own "testicle" - huge in size, unusual shape and with strange properties.

A magnetic survey with a proton magnetometer showed that under the crater there is an object with a high content of iron and ferromagnets for these places. This object lies at a depth of approximately 100-150 m and changes the magnetic field so that the instruments sense changes in an area twice the size of the crater.

At present, scientists have empirically established that this object is ultra-strong, about 10-16 m long. And experimental modeling has proved that the mysterious "testicle" has a cylindrical shape, and the diameter of the cylinder is about 3 meters. And the object is pressed into the depths by 600-700 m.

In addition, judging by the results of research, the mysterious cylinder consists of a metal unknown to mankind.

The cylindrical shape for meteorites is not typical, but the very fact of the formation of such a body somewhere in the depths of the Universe or even within our own solar system does not cause any particular contradictions.

RULE "BURAVCHIK"

So the "space" version appears again, and even an approximate picture of the catastrophe emerges: a certain cylindrical high-density object entered our atmosphere, did not burn up in it, but crashed into the ground. The blow fell on the Patomskaya Sopka. The cylinder drilled many meters of the ground and finally came to a stop when it reached a large cavity filled with high pressure gas. And the gas, like a piston, slowly and carefully pushed the rock, "ground" by the space cylinder, to the surface.

Of course, there were also those who believe that under the Patomsky crater there is now a certain spaceship. And the shape of the cylinder, which is unusual for meteorites, is proof of this. Moreover, a mysterious metal unknown to Earth. In general, this version cannot be discounted until scientists get to the mysterious object under the crater and see it with their own eyes.

BALLS AND BALLS

Among other unexplained anomalies of the "nest" and its surroundings is an increased content of magnesium - in some samples, five times higher than the background norm.

And even through not even the most serious excavations, various incomprehensible objects were discovered. For example, mysterious spheres: some of them are in the form of hollow balls of regular shape with a smooth shiny surface, others are easily destroyed or squeezed into cakes when pressed, and others are hemispheres with a smooth bluish or black surface.

They also revealed curved plates with a silvery sheen, extremely reminiscent of artificial formations (like steel shavings) and highly magnetized.

Were extracted 101 balls of magnetized iron, 5 metal balls with a diameter of 50 to 80 crowns, and also a spheroidal cone-type body, but transparent and yellow.

So the Patomsky crater is a very interesting object for research, and future expeditions will help solve its riddle.
