Mysterious object was photographed by American astronauts during the Apollo 8 expedition
The triangle was discovered by an unknown virtual archaeologist who examined archival images from the Apollo 8 spacecraft. They are freely available on the website of The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI).
The triangle shot is the last in a series posted on the website.
The anonymous hero sent a link to the snapshot to Tyler Glockner, a YouTube channel activist called SecureTeam who specializes in UFO information and videos. The activist produced a related movie called Something BIG On The Moon In Newly Discovered Apollo 8 Photo! It attracted a lot of attention from users. The frames with the triangle in the picture from the Moon were amazed in a couple of weeks by almost half a million people, who left almost 2 thousand responses. Perplexed observers tried to figure out what it was. But they didn't understand.
Apollo 8, with astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell and William Anders on board, entered circumlunar orbit on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1968. Made 10 orbits around it around the Moon. During this expedition, people flew around the moon for the first time, personally saw its reverse side. Most users decided that the object most closely resembled a slice of pizza. They even came up with a name for it - moonzarella.
The opinions of not so cheerful researchers were divided - first of all, into fantastic and reasonable ones.
"Scientists" suggested that the triangle is an alien ship that can be located both on the surface of the moon, and at a distance - between it and Apollo 8. Even its size was estimated - about 500 kilometers at the base. And he appeared in the picture because he arrived.
Another assumption: this is not a ship, but a giant hatch leading into the moon, which suddenly opened. And accordingly I got into the frame.
In an enlarged view, the resemblance of a triangle to a slice of pizza is most noticeable.
According to the "reasonable", the triangle represents some kind of defect, which was either present on the film, or formed during the development process. It is possible that someone unsuccessfully poked a finger at a still wet card or negative and left a triangular mark. And a speck of dust could sit on the lens.
But why didn’t NASA remove the image that raises many questions? No answer. As well as explanations about the nature of the triangular object. Maybe, after all, the aliens showed themselves to the astronauts goodbye? Why not? After all, Santa Claus appeared to them then.
Before the launch to Earth with Apollo 8, which appeared from behind the moon, communication suddenly disappeared - Houston called many times, but the astronauts did not answer. For an unknown reason, there was no connection for 6 minutes. Then Jim Lovell went on the air with the words: "Please be informed, there is a Santa Claus" ("Please note, here is Santa Claus"). It is believed that he joked so. What if not?
