During the Second World War, some unknown objects, then called "fu-fighters", accompanied American planes during the bombing flights of Germany and Japan.

Immediately after the explosion of the first atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, a series of photographs of the destroyed Hiroshima were taken, in which Japanese ufologists discovered an unknown object hanging over the city for a week. These photographs were featured in the Japanese magazine UFO News (1974.1).

A day after the outbreak of the Korean War, unknown objects appeared over the battlefields and were subsequently seen by hundreds of pilots on both sides. These targets often accompanied the first American Shooting Star jets and were observed over war zones on the ground.

During the Vietnam War, UFOs were also repeatedly observed over Hanoi, and over American ships in the Gulf of Tonkin, and over war zones.

In June 1967, the American Forces in Europe (AFN) radio station reported that a UFO was observed over the battlefields in Vietnam that looked like a huge disk, the light from which spread over a long distance. Thousands of American soldiers saw him hang for a long time, as if watching the fighting. Before the eyes of units of the American and South Korean forces, two squadrons of fighters headed for this object, but it was enveloped in smoke, began to move and disappeared into space.

A number of examples are known when UFOs appeared during the tests of American strategic missiles, and sometimes even accompanied these missiles in flight. US guided weapons experts reported seeing flying discs that chased and overtook missiles during test launches at White Sands.

Back in 1948, when the FAU-2 rocket was launched from this test site, a disk appeared next to the rocket, flying at a speed of 1800 km / h and making circles around it. He was observed through binoculars, theodolites, telescopes and radar screens. Then the UFO overtook the rocket at a speed of about 9000 km / h and disappeared into space.

Similar incidents occurred in April and July 1949, when ball-shaped UFOs maneuvered around flying missiles, and in April 1950, a UFO that appeared after the fall of a launched rocket was even photographed.

In July 1951, during the development of the film on which the launch of the rocket from the White Sands test site was filmed, a lens-like luminous object was discovered on it, accompanying the rocket in flight along a parallel trajectory. Subsequently, such observations took place at Cape Canaveral.

According to the Blue Book, in September 1961, a vertically moving UFO was discovered on radar screens at the time of launching a rocket from this cosmodrome.

In 1962, during the test launch of the Polaris rocket from Cape Canaveral towards the Caribbean, many also saw the missile being accompanied by a saucer-like UFO. After that, the photographers of the landfill were given an official order during the launch of the missiles to monitor and photograph UFOs.

In January 1964, during the next test launch of the Polaris rocket from Cape Canaveral, a UFO larger than the rocket appeared near it and flew next to it, as a result of which the automatic radar switched to it. And when the UFO changed direction and flew to the side, the radar continued to follow it, and only fourteen minutes later the operators realized their mistake.

Similar facts were recorded at the Vandenberg base (USA).

In September 1964, during the experimental launch of the Atlas F rocket from the Vandenberg base, high-speed filming of the rocket was carried out through a telescope. Upon subsequent viewing of the film, it was discovered that after the separation of the rocket stages, an unknown object approached from above, which had the typical shape of a flying saucer with a dome in the upper part, to its warhead, flying at an altitude of 110 km.

This object first flew close to the warhead, then flew twice around it, making four very bright flashes, and retired in the same direction from which it came.

Upon detailed analysis of the movie, it turned out that these flashes were created by a bright beam directed at the warhead from the object's dome. A few seconds after this flyby, the warhead got out of control and fell into the ocean, not reaching hundreds of miles to its intended target. All eyewitnesses were ordered to forget about this incident.

In August 1977, the US Air Force launched the Minuteman ICBM from Vandenberg Base towards the Pacific Ocean. Radars found that it was also accompanied by a UFO shaped like an inverted saucer throughout its trajectory.

UFOs were more often observed over various important objects (cosmodromes, test sites, rocket and air bases, nuclear plants, etc.), although it is possible that this pattern can only be apparent, caused by the heightened attention of observers in these areas.

It is characteristic that a particularly large number of observations in the early post-war years were recorded in the state of New Mexico, where the first atomic bomb was created in the Los Alamos laboratory.

In the same state in the Alamogordo region in July 1945, the first atomic device was exploded, after which an object similar to a UFO was seen on the ground near the explosion site.

The first documented UFO crash occurred in 1947 in the state of New Mexico, near the city of Roswell and near the White Sands test site, and at that time, the 509th B-29 "flying fortresses" bomber group was stationed at Roswell AFB, which was specially created to drop the first atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In 1947, it was the only bomber unit in the world to be armed with atomic bombs.

At this time, test launches of German FAU-2 long-range missiles were carried out at the White Sands test site.

In June 1948, a four-engined American military plane flying over the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) approached a mile distance to an unknown shiny disk hanging motionless at an altitude of 2500 m. Suddenly, this disk jerked from its place and rushed at high speed directly to the plane, and, flying up to a close distance, began to quickly make circles around him.

In an effort to avoid a collision, the pilot lowered the flight altitude to 900 m, but the disk followed the plane, continuing to circle around it. Soon the aircraft's motors began to malfunction, and strong jolts followed because the disk began to graze the ends of its wings. The elevators and rudders were completely out of order, and the crew was forced to leave the plane.

During the descent by parachute, the crew members watched as the disk waited until the plane crashed into a swamp, after which it soared vertically to its previous height and disappeared.

Since 1948, massive flights of strange green fireballs have been observed over the states of New Mexico and Nevada, and on March 17, 1950, over 500 unknown silvery discs flew over the restricted area of nuclear plants in New Mexico.

In 1978-1979. flights and hovering of some unknown luminous objects over Baikonur were repeatedly observed. Repeated UFO sightings are also known over Kapustin Yar.

According to Demenyuk, a major-engineer in reserve, in June 1961, with a group of other servicemen, for several minutes he watched a black cigar-shaped object 20-25 m long flying over Kapustin Yar at an altitude of about 800 m at a speed of 150 km / h and with a diameter of 25 m without wings, stabilizers and windows.

According to reliable data, in November 1979 in Kapustin Yar, 1.5 hours before launch, in front of a group of generals and officers, an unknown elliptical object, glowing with a light green light, hovered directly above the command post and the launch pad. He hung motionless for about 30 minutes, after which he began to move away.

In January 1986, exactly the same object was again observed over Kapustin Yar. Officers working at the range said that such phenomena are often observed there.

Observations of some unknown objects were noted in 1966 and 1967. over a US missile base in North Dakota.

In January 1979, the Washington Post published data leaked from the Pentagon, according to which, in October-November 1975, UFOs flew over eight Minuteman missile bases located in the northern regions of the United States for two weeks. These objects were observed visually and recorded by radars. In the materials of the Air Force and NORAD, there are detailed reports about the silent soaring of UFOs at a height of 3-5 m directly above the storage of nuclear weapons and missile silos at these bases.

UFO flights and hovering over strategic missile positions have been observed more than once in the former USSR.

In the report of the officers of one of the missile units, it was described how the motor vehicle, in which the officers were driving to the position, had an unexpected engine failure. When they got out of the car, they saw how “at an altitude of about 200 m, a dark disk was moving slowly and silently, emitting rays. One of them fumbled somewhere on the ground near the missile silo.

To see what was flying there, they turned on the searchlight - it was on, directed it at the object - it went out right there. This useless business was abandoned after they used up the entire supply of lamps - they burned out. Meanwhile, the object flew away. The next day, history repeated itself with the only difference that the disc flew in the opposite direction and the searchlight was no longer lit. By the way, the very reliable alarm system did not work in both cases."

There were also recorded cases of UFO hovering over American nuclear plants: in 1947 in Oak Ridge (Tennessee), in 1949 in Hanford (Washington state), in 1950 in Los Alamos (New Mexico) and in Las Vegas (Nevada) and in 1959 - in Weldon Springs (Missouri).

In 1957, an unknown object was observed over the British Maralinga test site (South Australia) for 15 minutes before nuclear weapons tests were carried out there.

In 1965, an unknown rotating disk hung for a long time over the British Center for Nuclear Research.

According to the Air Force's Office of Special Research, between August 8 and September 8, security at the Sandia Test Center (New Mexico), which houses top-secret laboratories for the development of new weapons of the Air Force and the improvement of nuclear weapons, reported five times the landing of small disc-shaped UFO the territory of the center.

Repeated UFO sightings have also been observed over military airfields. Since 1970, UFOs have appeared 12 times over Williams Air Force Base (Arizona) and 11 times over B-52 Barksdale Bomber Base (Louisiana), and in one case the UFO hovered over a formation of pilots preparing for the parade for 20 minutes.

In October-November 1975, UFOs flew over the American airbases Loring (Maine), Wurt-Smith (Michigan) and Malmstrom (Montana) for two weeks.

In the USSR in August 1980, a UFO in the form of a luminous ball with a tail appeared over a military airfield south of Barnaul and made an even circle above it at low altitude. In this regard, the aircraft in the air were ordered not to land. Then this object rose sharply up to an altitude of 4000 m and made another circle, after which it rose to an altitude of 8000 m and went towards Barnaul, but soon returned, dropped to an altitude of 4000 m and again began to make turns over the long-range drives of the airfield.

Finally, he withdrew with increasing speed in the direction of Novosibirsk. The flight of this object from the direction of Semipalatinsk through Barnaul to Novosibirsk and its maneuvers over the airfield were observed visually and tracked on radar screens.

In July 1982, an unknown black object in the shape of a pear cut along the lines with two luminous dots at the ends flew twice over a military airfield near Roslavl. The object flew at an altitude of 600-900 m, as a result of which flights had to be stopped. He made rectangular turns, hovered in place, disappeared and reappeared, moving at a speed of about 900 km / h. When trying to aim the spotlight at him, the object quickly disappeared. The total duration of his observation was 1.5 hours.

In an incident that occurred in 1978 or 1979 at one of the military depots in the Pskov region, a UFO beam was directed at the storage facility.

According to Major T., it looked like this. Before the eyes of the guard, a glowing ball appeared above the warehouse, directing a beam of light to one of the vaults. After a while, this ray disappeared, and the object jerked to another storage and also first directed a ray of light at it, and then removed it. And so, in turn, all the storage facilities were illuminated or, as it were, probed.

The ball moved below the clouds, the height of which was 300-400 m that evening. The next evening, at the same time, everything was repeated in the same sequence. After that, an anti-aircraft gun was placed on the territory of the warehouse, but the object did not appear again.

The second case of a UFO sighting over an ammunition depot occurred in the Tomsk region. Sentinel Kutsuba at night saw a whitish disc with a diameter of about 50 m hovering over a warehouse with a red lantern in the center. From this lantern, a beam slowly advanced and seemed to penetrate into the warehouse. The sentry wanted to shoot, but could not, as he felt paralyzed. After 1.5 minutes, the beam was drawn into the disk, which rose upward in abrupt movements and disappeared.
