Angelucci, who worked as a mechanic for the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank, California, says that on July 23, 1952, he felt sick and did not go to work.
In the evening, he went for a walk in a secluded area near a concrete dam on the Los Angeles River. During the walk he was bothered by a strange stabbing sensation in his body and a kind of dullness and sluggishness of thoughts. Suddenly he saw in front of him a luminous, foggy object, shaped like an igloo - an Eskimo dwelling. The object gradually became denser. It had a door on board that led into the dimly lit interior.
Walking through the door, Angelucci found himself in a completely empty vaulted room, eighteen feet in diameter, with shimmering mother-of-pearl walls. He saw beside him a reclining chair made of the same translucent substance as the entire ship, and he wanted to sit in it. Then the door slammed shut, leaving not only a gap, but in general not the slightest sign that it existed, and the object, apparently, launched into space.
Soon a window opened in the wall of the room, and Angelucci saw the earth from a distance of about a thousand miles. A voice began to speak to him, describing the plight of materialistic people on Earth and urging Angelucci to tell them about their true spiritual nature. The voice said: “Every person on Earth has a spiritual body that transcends the material world and will live forever …
Angelucci listened to these teachings for a while and then had the following experience:
From the dome of the ship, a blinding white beam shot out in flashes. Apparently, I partially lost consciousness for a moment. Everything around him blurred into a vast, flickering white light. It seemed to me that I was thrown out of the bounds of Time and Space and I am aware only of light, Light, LIGHT! Every event from my life on Earth was crystal clear before me, I was flying somewhere … And I decided that I was dying.
Then everything slowly turned into a beautiful world of indescribable beauty. Free from all moral errors, I sailed in a timeless sea of bliss. When Angelucci returned to his body, he realized that the object had landed on the ground. Returning home, he recalled the burning sensation under his heart, which he experienced while on board the ship. He examined the chest and found a reddish dot surrounded by a coin-sized circle. This was the only tangible evidence that what he experienced was actually happening.
