In 1991, the American weekly Weekly World News published an article by Washington correspondent Nick Mann about how in 1987 an unidentified flying object was shot down by the Soviet air defense in the Siberian taiga. However, in fairness it should be noted that Weekly World News was considered one of the most "yellow" publications in the United States. But, as they say, there is no smoke without fire, and in print media of this kind you can sometimes stumble upon not only curious, but also truthful information.

Enlonauts managed to stand up for themselves

The article reported that on the morning of October 13, 1987, in the sky over the northeast of the Irkutsk region, the air defense radars of the Siberian Military District detected a strange object moving from southeast to north. The aircraft did not respond to the requests sent, after which a surface-to-air missile was launched at it. At 8:35 am the object was shot down. Soon, a reconnaissance and search group consisting of 24 conscripts and one officer arrived at the place of its fall in the south of Yakutia.

The servicemen who arrived by helicopter allegedly found a disc-shaped apparatus that had fallen apart, from which small - the size of a gopher - creatures with large heads soon emerged. Holding hands, they made a circle, which suddenly turned into a huge ball glowing with bluish light. The ball suddenly began to hum, grow in size, then turned white, flared up and. without making a sound, exploded. As a result of the explosion, 22 servicemen were killed, and the survivors were able to tell what they saw with their own eyes only a few years later.

The most curious in this story, according to Nick Mann, was the conclusion of experts who conducted a medical study of the remains of military personnel. Scientists have found that all body tissues - skin, muscles, tendons, bones and hairline - after the explosion of the mysterious ball turned … into stone. This gave reason to assume that the deceased were exposed to an unknown type of energy that changed the molecular structure of tissues, turning it from organic to inorganic.

Strange village

A logical continuation of the story about the UFO shot down over Yakutia, the correspondent of Weekly World News believes, is the story of the Soviet emigrant, former geologist Sergei Livshits. According to Livshits, in 1989 he was part of a geological expedition in the south of Yakutia. Once, having a carbine with him, Sergei went alone into the taiga thicket, where he saw a strange creature, vaguely reminiscent of homo sapiens, in gray clothes. The creature had a bare skull covered with yellow skin with spots that looked like cadavers. Seeing a man, the creature rushed into the depths of the taiga. The astonished Livshits followed him and after about an hour he found himself in a clearing, next to a village not marked on the maps. Several wooden huts and barracks along the perimeter were entangled with barbed wire. On four sides of the mysterious settlement there were wooden towers, however,no guards or shooters were observed on them. People in military uniforms walked around the territory, but without insignia, as well as ugly creatures already familiar to Sergei with a yellow, red or bluish skin tint, without ears and lips, with three-fingered limbs. Among the wandering freaks were children, as well as ordinary people in handcuffs.

Suddenly the dogs called out, sensing a stranger lurking behind a wire fence. Two creatures immediately separated from the crowd of freaks and rushed towards Livshits. Sergei ran away, but the creatures quickly caught up with him. The geologist turned around, raised his carbine, and fired two aimed shots. The freaks fell to the ground, but after a few seconds, despite serious injuries, they jumped up and continued their pursuit. The impression was created that the capabilities of their bodies far exceeded those of humans. However, after running several tens of meters, the pursuers began to run out of steam and soon fell to the ground. Sergey was saved …

Nick Mann writes that the mysterious village in the Yakut taiga is somehow connected with the downed UFO. It is possible that aliens from the crashed ship were contained in the space fenced off by wire. According to another version of the correspondent, these were people who suffered from the effects of radiation from a flying object. It is possible that secret experiments were performed on them.

However, meetings similar to the one described by Livshits have occurred before. So, Vasily S. from Chita recalls how in 1954 in the area of the Vitim River, almost at the junction of Buryatia, Irkutsk and Chita regions, he encountered a hunter in the taiga, whose whole face was covered with spots and bleeding ulcers. After talking with him, Vasily found out that the hunter suffers from some unknown skin disease. He untied the bandage on his arm, and Vasily saw that the man's hand was glowing in the twilight, and barely noticeable sparks flew from the tips of his fingers …

The pilot lieutenant colonel of the reserve Boris Petrovich N-chev, now living in Vologda, during his service in the Trans-Baikal Military District in 1971 was forced to eject from a burning fighter. The officer landed near Lake Bount. Examining the area, the soldier saw a man lying on the ground who was moaning softly. Despite the cool weather, the stranger's clothes were practically absent. Boris Petrovich examined the man, whose whole body was eaten away by some strange disease - through the wounds in some places, even a bone was visible. The stranger had no hair. Soon the sound of a helicopter was heard, which, guided by the signal of the radio beacon, arrived for the pilot. Boris Petrovich met rescuers, after which he decided to return for the dying man in order to evacuate him at the same time, but the mysterious man disappeared …

During the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline in 1977, tunnellers came across a dilapidated, long-abandoned hut, in which skeletonized human remains were found. The strangest thing about this find was that the bones of the skeleton had an unnatural blue color and glowed in the twilight. An hour and a half after the discovery of the corpse, the military arrived and took the mysterious ashes with them.

An alien base or a secret laboratory?

Even today, a large number of mysterious facts from the period of Soviet history remain classified. However, some of the information that manages to leak into the domestic and foreign press provides abundant food for assumptions, guesses and conjectures. Thus, many researchers of paranormal phenomena are convinced that the Soviet military from the middle of the 20th century knew about alien cosmodromes lost in the Siberian taiga. Moreover, according to scientists, the special services managed to capture at least two alien ships with their crews, which became objects of study in secret laboratories built in places inaccessible to an ordinary person.

Another part of enthusiastic scientists is of the opinion that laboratories created on the basis of special institutions of the notorious GULAG have been working in the Siberian taiga since the end of the 30s of the last century for many decades. In them, samples of various types of weapons and medical preparations were tested on people, the limits of endurance of the human body and the results of exposure to aggressive environments were studied. Largely thanks to these experiments, the USSR was able to send the first man into space, create the latest samples of chemical, biological and bacteriological weapons, learn everything about the destructive effects of invisible radioactive rays …

Whether these secret laboratories exist today is unknown. However, we can say with confidence that the taiga and sparsely populated Siberian region still reliably keeps many exciting secrets and mysteries.
