The people in anger fell upon the enemies, and a terrible battle began, but the Teutons, thanks to their weapons, were already close to victory. Suddenly a strong lightning illuminated the night skyand before the eyes of the frightened knights, the ghost of the slain prince appeared on the top of the tower. After the victory, the Pskovites found only heavy chains inside the dungeon, and his ghost has been guarding his hometown ever since.
Under the tower there is an underground crypt, from where the ringing of gold coins is often heard, but no one can get there because of the intrigues of the evil spirits guarding the treasures, along with the coffin of a young beauty cursed by her parents for her pranks. For six days he read the holy words and fought with various abominable visions inspired by unclean spirits, but he could not stand such a regime and dozed off. Jubilant demons pounced on their victim and threw it out of the tower, after which he quickly died. Since then, no one has been able to free the sufferer from such a fate,so that she still lies with barrels of gold, surrounded by the ghostly guard of darkness.
