The Center for UFO Research of Russia keeps authentic documents testifying to eyewitness observations of unidentified flying and floating objects. We are interested in them because these extraordinary facts were observed and recorded by our compatriots. Moreover, such unusual incidents happened a long time ago, when it was not customary to talk about them out loud. Times have changed, and now we can tell you about the brightest of them.
In Soviet times, the club of submariners of the Northern Fleet gathered for lectures up to a thousand active submariners. The sailors came to the lecture hall to talk about the experience of service on submarines, to tell about emergencies that often happen during military campaigns. And sometimes the most extraordinary events take place in the open ocean.
In the early 60s, all those present were conquered by the confession of Captain O. Sokolov, who served in the North: “Once, when we had been disappearing in the ocean for more than a month, our hydroacoustician detected the noise of a submarine at great depths. And this was not surprising: after all, our other submarine was supposed to detect and track us during the exercises. This was the learning task. But the noise, which our acoustician detected, indicated that the pursuer was walking at a speed of 8, or even 10 times faster than us. I ordered the periscope ready for operation. I noticed an object in the water, but I cannot see and describe it. He went to the surface of the ocean with incredible speed. At such speeds under water, no mechanism is capable of moving. This is contrary to the laws of physics."
In order not to spoil the service of Captain Sokolov, they simply did not pay attention to his report. However, about a month later, sailors from a Norwegian merchant ship observed a similar picture. It was not possible to find out what kind of super-high-speed apparatus it was.
Several years ago, a professor at Odessa University, Korsakov, showed reporters a photograph of a UFO. This picture was taken by a senior officer of a warship in the early 50s. The senior officer personally observed the appearance of an unidentified object from under the water. The observation was carried out from the side of a military cruiser, which was parked at the naval base in Sevastopol. The object took to the air and then zoomed over the ship from the stern. The UFO was in the immediate vicinity of the cruiser for a long time, which allowed the officer to take several pictures of this aircraft. Then he rushed sharply into the sky and disappeared into the blue in a split second.
A lot of commotion was caused by the sailors of the fishing trawler "Vasily Kiselyov", who turned out to be unwitting witnesses to the maneuvers of the mysterious object. In December 1977, a fishing boat was off New Georgia Island. The sailors who were not on duty rested. Directly in front of the ship from the ocean, an unusual apparatus slowly appeared and rose into the air. In shape, it resembled a donut or a steering wheel: rounded, with an empty space inside. Its diameter was 300-500 meters. The object easily climbed to an altitude of 4-5 km and continued to hover directly above the trawler. At that moment, when the unknown device appeared from under the water, the radar of "Vasily Kiselyov" immediately went out of order. All communication was cut off. The UFO literally stood in the sky for about three hours and then suddenly disappeared.
A curious report on the encounter with UFOs was given by the sailor of the tanker "Gori" A. G. Globa. In 1984, Gori flew to the Mediterranean. At the time of the extraordinary encounter with an unidentified aircraft, the tanker was cruising 20 nautical miles from Gibraltar. At 16.00 local time Globa was on watch. Together with him, S. Bolotov, the senior assistant to the ship's captain, was on duty in the command room. And then, quite suddenly, in front of them, to the left along the side, a multicolored apparatus appeared from somewhere below. He slowly climbed up, and once above the stern, froze in place. Bolotov was the first to emerge from his torpor: “My God, rather look, look. This is a real flying saucer!"
“The unidentified object resembled an inverted frying pan in shape,” Globa later wrote. - It was clearly a metal apparatus. The bottom of the object seemed perfectly round. The total diameter of the object was no more than 20 meters. The convex sphere of the outer skin stood out in the lower part. The basic part of the object consisted of two half-disks. The top was clearly smaller than the bottom. They slowly rotated in different directions. Both half-discs shone with colorful lights, as if they were portholes illuminated from within. The lower part of the device was closer to us, so I and the sailors who ran out onto the deck looked exactly at the bottom of the object. The surface of the UFO was perfectly smooth and flat. Some pipes or nozzles peeped out from the bottom of the device, flickering with an unnatural pinkish fire or light. The object was crowned with something triangular, which moved clockwise. But what it was, I could not determine.

Then the UFO seemed to jump up in the air and stumbled over an invisible wave. At the same moment, many colored lights lit up on the lower part of the object … We tried to attract his attention by sending light signals, but he did not react in any way. Meanwhile, the entire free tanker was dumped onto the deck. The UFO was so bright and unusual and hovered in the air for so long that it attracted the attention of another ship: it was an Arab bulk carrier on its way to Greece. The UFO hovered over us for another 15 minutes, and then, quickly picking up speed, disappeared into the sky."
After the report of the captain of the tanker "Gori" about the meeting with the UFO, the authorities tried to make it "a little inadequate", but the same episode with the indication of time and coordinates was vying with each other to describe hundreds of Western newspapers and magazines.
