This is a bas-relief by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. On it, he depicted the goddess of the night flying in space. She has two of her sons in her arms: Sleep and Death. In ancient times, people did not share these concepts. It was believed that during sleep, a person is completely at the mercy of the gods of darkness and nothing depends on his actions or desires. However, modern Russian scientists are convinced of the opposite. In their opinion, their dreams can be controlled.
The researchers announced that they had created a device that literally allows them to direct their own dreams. In appearance, the device resembles a regular face mask, but in fact it is a real miracle of technology. The inventors claim that with the help of this gadget, people will be able to "order" themselves a script for the night. Is it really? What is sleep? Is it possible to control it?
Until recently, the idea that one can penetrate into the subconscious of a person was a fantasy, but very soon it will become a reality. Russian researchers are ready to turn sleep into an exciting game, the scenario for which everyone will come up with independently. To fly around the entire globe in one night, become a star or get rich - any dream can become a reality, but only until the moment of awakening.
A modern gadget that allows you to control night visions looks quite simple - it is a cloth mask into which electrodes are sewn. When sleep begins, the pupils rotate sensors record signals from the contraction of the muscles of the eyes and melt weak electrical impulses into the brain. At this moment, the sleeping person begins to realize what is happening to him not in reality, which means he can do anything.
Psychologists believe that the brain works in a dream in a completely different way than in reality. Research has shown that the bioelectrical work of his cortex changes. The connection between the real and the unreal is lost. The laws of the physical world cease to exist. According to some somnologists, in a dream, we go on a journey through parallel worlds. Do they really exist or are they just games of our subconscious mind?
At the beginning of the 20th century, the outstanding Russian scientist Vladimir Vernadsky spoke about the noosphere, the information field of the Universe, which contains knowledge about the present, past and future. According to one hypothesis, it is to this field that the brain connects during sleep, becoming a kind of information receiver (it is no coincidence that many ingenious ideas came to great people when they were sleeping).
There is a theory that there is no fundamental difference between sleep and hypnotic trance, and in either state it is possible to penetrate into the consciousness of another person.

In 1943, in Nazi Germany, the special services used the gift of the Arab youth Mustafa Inhum - in the photo (plunging into a hypnotic trance, he acquired telepathic abilities, and he could not only read people's thoughts, but also inspire them with any information).
Is it safe to practice lucid dreaming?
According to some doctors, sleep management can lead to the development of schizophrenia and other mental disorders. After all, having received unlimited possibilities, humanity will risk choosing the illusion of reality.
Nevertheless, research in this direction is being carried out in many countries. The latest breakthrough can be called the work of Japanese scientists who managed to project visual images that come in a dream onto a computer monitor. The next task will be to create a worldwide video library of dreams.
