Oundle English Castle was built in 1190. According to legend, the future King Richard III was born here, and the trial and execution of the Scottish Queen Mary Stuart took place.
By the beginning of the 17th century, the castle fell into disrepair and turned into ruins. However, part of the castle complex has survived, including the large oak staircase that Mary Stuart allegedly descended when she was led to her execution. They also say that, going down, she drew a mark in the form of a crown on the railing with her ring. She did it in vain - for many centuries the queen's spirit has been attached to this place.
Now in the preserved part of the castle there is a hotel. From time to time, the steps of the executed queen are heard on the stairs, furniture creaks in the rooms, and the portrait of Mary Stuart, hanging on the wall in the hall, begins to sway by itself …
"Stanley" (USA, Colorado, Estes Park)
Located near Rocky Mountain National Park, it served as the prototype for the sinister hotel from Stephen King's The Shining, which has since been filmed several times. According to the staff of the hotel, ghosts do live in it. Sometimes you can hear someone playing the piano in empty rooms. And sometimes perfumes appear in the rooms of visitors in the middle of the night.
Fairmont Banff Springs (Canada, Alberta, Banff National Park)
This fashionable resort hotel looks like a Scottish medieval castle. It was built in 1888.
In 1926, a fire broke out in the building, and a secret room without windows and doors was found on the eighth floor.

The ghostly bride appears on the anniversary of her failed wedding and death. Sometimes she is seen dancing in the hall.
From time to time "Lady in Red" appears in the hotel elevator car. This is a girl who died in a car accident that happened in 1944 near the hotel.

Several years ago, the hotel was closed for renovation. Once a local resident Victoria Jovan, having photographed her friend in the walls of the hotel, found in the picture the shadow of a woman in a long white robe that looked like a nun. And a group of schoolchildren, deciding to get into the building under reconstruction late at night, felt an icy breath and saw a mysterious white silhouette.
