Imagine that you are in the seclusion of your home and having nothing to do, taking pictures of yourself in the mirror. You post the resulting picture on the Internet and in the very first comment you are asked who was behind you during the shooting. You look at the image more closely and suddenly you notice an unfriendly face peeking out from behind your head in the photo. Sounds like a disturbing horror story, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, German Albertine Byrne has experienced a similar phenomenon personally. Last weekend, the forty-two-year-old Munich resident was left in her apartment alone, indulging in watching her favorite TV series. At a certain point, the woman decided to take a selfie, because there was nothing to do. She took the camera, went to the mirror in the hallway and took a picture. Then Albertina posted it on her page in the popular German social network "StayFriends".

Less than half an hour later, Byrne received the first comment from one of her pen pals. "I hope you had your shy daughter behind you?" She asked. The German woman was confused because her only daughter is currently in another city. The European woman looked at the picture again and was horrified to the depths of her soul: at the time of the shooting, someone was really behind her! Albertine clearly saw a woman's face with a sinister smile and deathly white eyes.

A ghost ruined the quiet life of a married couple

Byrne says: “I immediately ran away from the apartment, did not even close the door behind me. Nothing more creepy has ever happened to me. I had to live with a friend for three days until my husband returned from a business trip. I showed him a photo and he was very surprised. Of course, he tries to calm me down and argued that this ghost could be quite harmless, but I still am scared as hell. I try to leave home earlier than my husband and deliberately stay late at work in order to come back later. Being in this apartment alone is now just unbearably creepy."

The couple writes that they are going to soon exchange their apartments for others - so much the appearance of a guest from the other world impressed Albertina. The spouses are quite understandable - many of us will confirm that a paranormal selfie makes the blood freeze in our veins, but we may not even suspect how much this photo traumatized the psyche of a Munich resident.

It is noteworthy that the mysticism associated with photography did not end there. The picture has already spread all over the Internet, but here's what is interesting: not all people for some reason are able to see the face behind the head of a German woman in a mysterious image. Many users of the World Wide Web claim that they see in the photo only Byrne, standing with a camera, and there is nothing unusual behind her. Maybe it's all about a strange optical illusion? Or does the ghost want to be shown to every first person even in a digital photograph, and especially on the Internet?..
