Employees of the American National Space Agency have again published a fresh collection of Martian images on their official website. The photographs were taken by the HiRISE camera from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, a multifunctional automated station that explores the Red Planet. As soon as the images appeared on the World Wide Web, ufologists and other virtual search specialists soon found another sensation on one of them.

A mysterious frame taken by the satellite back in March this year shows an impact crater with an unusual shadow. It looks like a circle from which an even segment was cut. Many Internet users have stated that this depression on the surface of Mars resembles Pacman, the hero of the arcade video game of the same name. NASA scientists say that the crescent dune inside is to blame, and in the distant future, when the wind blows sand from there, the crater will look different.

Some conspiracy theorists and ufologists, however, believe that we can talk about another proof of the presence of intelligent life on Mars. According to alternative researchers, perhaps this is not a crater at all, but something completely different. For example, the entrance to an alien base or even an alien aircraft that looks like a symmetrical shadow thanks to the futuristic camouflage. Needless to say, when it comes to relief, nature doesn't like symmetry.

However, it is possible that the pareidolic illusion "completed" this for nature, skeptics say. And as you understand, there is no arbiter in this dispute, and so far there cannot be. Mars presents us with many mysterious surprises, and until a person visits it, much will remain a mystery to people …
