The mysterious Russian radio station, dubbed The Buzzer, has been on the minds of conspiracy theorists for years, Bild writes.

Some believe the radio station is sending messages to "Russian spies" abroad, while others believe the station is designed to retaliate in the event of a nuclear war. Finally, fans of the paranormal are convinced that the "buzzer" makes contact with "aliens", the newspaper notes.

According to Bild journalist Ingrid Ragarde, the mysterious Russian radio station UVB-76, known since 1980, broadcasts a repetitive buzzing sound on a frequency of 4625 every day, rarely interrupted by the reading of "cryptic messages." Because of its peculiar sound, the radio station received the informal name "buzzer".

According to Ragarde, until 2010 the radio station was located in the village of Povarovo, Moscow Region. Now satellite images indicate that the antenna devices located there were destroyed. Today the radio station is located in the Leningrad region.

Many "fans" of the radio station are intrigued by the "unexplained violations" of the monotonous radio signal. For example, on July 5, 2010, the signal completely disappeared from the air, and the next day it reappeared. On September 2, 2010, the signal disappeared again for several days, and after resuming it began broadcasting with an excerpt from Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake.

As the author of the Bild material writes, the buzzbox broadcasts 23 hours and 10 minutes a day. From 07:00 to 07:50 in the morning, she pauses. A monotonous humming noise sounds 25 times per minute. At the same time, not the same recording is played, since in the background one can hear "ordinary office noises", and sometimes snatches of conversations in Russian are heard.

The buzzing noise is often interrupted by the reading of letters and numbers. On January 26, 2012, someone said: "BYeZLOBNYJ 10 68 02 87". On February 9, 2012, the air sounded: "ZYeAZIN 41 05 61 19 ADOPTACIYa 83 51 95 39". And during the “occupation of Crimea” in March 2014, a voice said: “TERRACOTA. 81 26 Mikhail Dmitry Zhenya Boris ".

The meaning of these messages is still unclear, but there are a number of assumptions, writes the author of the material. Perhaps the numbers and letters are "information for Russian spies serving outside of Russia."

Constant noise can also serve another function, being part of the Cold War-era Dead Hand system, which provides for an automatic retaliatory strike against a nuclear attack against Russia. The moment the noise stops, all defense systems will be applied and the notorious red button will be pressed.

There is another theory that explains the purpose of the "hummer". According to the Yahoo website, the radio station serves to "establish contact with aliens" or "brainwash Russian citizens." “In recent years, many people have tried to decipher the alphabetic and numerical series of the buzzer, but to this day no one has succeeded,” sums up the author of Bild.
