The famous British photographer managed to capture touching shots on the territory of Virunga National Park in Congo.
41-year-old photographer James Gifford was shocked when he saw what kind of trusting relationship developed between the park keeper Andre Baum and two young female gorillas. Gorillas were brought to Virunga in 2007 when they were still cubs.
The rebels believed the local gorilla population was a threat to them. Therefore, 9 unfortunate animals were mercilessly exterminated, and the cubs were taken into the care of Andre in the National Park in Congo, according to the Daily Mail.
At first, everything went as usual, the caretaker just took care of the young gorillas, while talking a lot with his charges. Later he began to notice that his pupils liked to touch him.

Tactile contact has proven to be very important for young females. Now, at the sight of Andre, the first thing the gorillas do is try to hug him, holding him closer to them.
Photographer James Gifford, who took a series of touching shots with the participation of gorillas and Andre, could not concentrate on shooting for a long time, constantly lowering the camera down.
The affectionate gorillas showed in every way how much they loved their human friend.
