Residents of Yakutia were able to observe an unidentified object in the sky over the village of Kyrgydai in the Vilyui ulus. The object flew across the sky and exploded, so much so that even residents of neighboring settlements saw the flash. The incident took place in the early morning of March 5th.
“The force of the impact on the ground was such that the explosion from the explosion could be seen by the residents of not only the Vilyui, but also the neighboring Verkhnevilyuisky ulus. There were even those who managed to capture this moment on video. Several surveillance cameras in an educational institution recorded the outbreak, Vesti Yakutia reported.
According to the newspaper, the authorities did not comment on the incident. Locals, in turn, fear that part of a space or ballistic rocket has exploded over their heads. They want to know if it's time to take radiation protection measures. The publication recalled that earlier, when discussing the fall of the stages of carrier rockets in the State Assembly of Yakutia, representatives of Roscosmos promised to alert the population and even to evacuate from the territory of a possible fall.
The journalists turned to the Yakut Ministry of Nature Protection for clarification. The department told them that they had already sent a corresponding request to Roscosmos.
Some journalists tried to link this incident with the launch of the RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile. It was produced on March 4 at the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region. However, the military said that they had nothing to do with the explosion in the sky over Yakutia. “The training warhead of the missile hit a conventional target at the Sary-Shagan training ground (Republic of Kazakhstan) with a given accuracy,” the Defense Ministry said. Moreover, the trajectory of its flight did not pass through the territory of Yakutia.
