The journey of the fluffy pet from the Uzbek Gulistan to the Russian Liski lasted almost two years
In order to become worthy of conversations throughout the small town of Liski, as well as throughout Russia and even the CIS, the green-eyed cat Karim crossed three state borders.
In a way unknown to any human mind, he found his masters. And while they praise their pet to their neighbors, he, full of self-esteem, lies on his favorite chair and listens to the story of his own return.
The 52-year-old owner of the animal, Ravila Khairova, with her 46-year-old husband Lev Kondratyev and 30-year-old son Ruslan decided to move to Russia for permanent residence about two years ago. And then they were very worried that they would have to leave their beloved cat in Uzbekistan. They did not dare to carry the animal - the freedom-loving 9-year-old Karim could not stand three days on the train. So we agreed with a neighbor that she would shelter the poor fellow at her place.
Arriving in the Voronezh region in the city of Liski, Ravilya immediately called her neighbor to inquire about the cat and was taken aback by the unpleasant news: Karim fled the next day after their departure and no one else saw him. After that, Ravila called her homeland several times, but there was no news of the missing pet.
As time went. The family settled down in a new place. Having changed one state to another, having found themselves in a new environment, migrants from Central Asia plunged into a heap of problems. Like many "come in large numbers", Ravilya found herself a job in the market or, as they would say in her homeland, the bazaar.
Outgoing and welcoming Uzbek people quickly made new friends. I made many acquaintances and good friends at the new place of work. It was just all these numerous friends who witnessed the sentimental scene that will not be forgotten any time soon - Ravilya bumped into her cat in the market! The very same Karim whom she left more than a year and a half ago, 3000 kilometers from this Russian town.
- A miracle happened! - otherwise Ravil cannot evaluate this event. - The other day I went to the market and there an emaciated skinned cat rushed at my feet. I couldn't believe my eyes - it was our Karim! He recognized me and answered the name. I was shocked! Rather, she grabbed him in her arms and returned home by taxi. On the way, I carefully examined the cat. Muzzle, color and spots on the paws - all our signs!

At home, Ravila began to call her husband and son at work with good news.
- I told them that we have a guest from Uzbekistan! - laughs Ravilya. - Our cat has "arrived" to us! Of course, the husband and son did not believe at first until they saw Karim with their own eyes. We washed the cat and now we are feeding it hard, he has grown thin after a year and 8 months of travel.
In the new house, Karim immediately lay down on the very chair that he had chosen back in Gulistan. He continues to carry himself with dignity and seems to feel that he has become even more respected after his grand tour. But now he runs out for walks for a short while. Perhaps he is afraid that the owners will disappear again.
- I've heard a lot about the ability of cats to find their owners' home for many kilometers. But our Karim, in my opinion, broke all records - he covered three thousand kilometers! - happy Ravilya smiles. - Probably, some seventh sense helps cats. People cannot understand this riddle.
The owner admitted that the cat was named Karim in honor of Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
