86 years ago, Indian archaeologists Banerjee and Sahin discovered an ancient city on one of the islands of the Indus River. Excavations continue, and scientists are puzzled over a great mystery. Secrets of Mohenjo-Daro - this is the name of this city in the Sindhi language in modern literature. And this name means "Hill of the Dead". The main question is: why did it suddenly cease to exist about 3500 years ago and where did its inhabitants go?
No, Mohenjo-Daro was not ravaged by the enemy hordes - in the red-brick ruins during excavations, no traces were found that would confirm this. And the local residents did not have weapons. As one Russian author wrote, they “lived in an oasis of peace,” and this is in perfect harmony with the customs of the ancient Hindus.
This proto-Indian agricultural civilization (the birthplace of cotton and rice), which also included another large city in the valley of the great river - Harappa, did not need an army at all and did not practice aggressive campaigns - there was no one to defend against.
The versions of a flood, a global fire, a large meteorite fall, a volcanic eruption similar to Vesuvius also disappear. As well as epidemics. Surprisingly, the city had running water. Water was supplied to the houses on all streets, which were 10 meters wide. There was also an extensive sewerage system: sewage was discharged outside the city limits through pipes made of baked bricks. This made it possible to protect the city from the spread of dangerous infections.
Researchers turned to the ancient Indian chronicles "The Book of Zaen" and found in them a curious legend about extraterrestrial beings who arrived on a metal ship. The guests lived peacefully with the natives, but then feuds arose between these creatures, and some of them moved to another city. There the inhabitants chose them as rulers.
The relations of the latter with their relatives, whom they left at one time, became even more aggravated. The leader of the aliens ordered to release a huge luminous spear on the city of "renegades". It achieved its goal and burned residents, destroyed buildings. Those who later entered the city fell ill and died. The leader gathered his warriors, their wives and children, all of them “entered the ships, rose one by one into the sky and sailed away …” Many just see in this legend the image of Mohenjo-Daro, struck by an atomic explosion. But these are only fantasies.
And yet about the explosion. In 1979, the British David Davenport and the Italian Ettore Vincenti published new data on Mohenjo-Daro, which became vividly discussed in scientific circles. The authors assumed that the "Hill of the Dead" experienced a powerful explosion. And as one of the material evidences they took the "black stones" that were dotted with the streets there.

Analyzes were carried out at the University of Rome and in the laboratory of the National Research Council (Italy). They showed: these are fragments of earthenware, sintered at a temperature of about 1400 - 1600 degrees, and then hardened. Davenport and Vincenti found that the ancient city was destroyed by three shock waves that spread a mile from the epicenter of the explosion (towards the periphery, the destruction decreases, buildings on the outskirts are better preserved). Everyone who was at the epicenter instantly evaporated. That is, they say, why archaeologists did not find skeletons there.
Another widespread version of the tragedy in Mohenjo-Daro is associated with physicochemical formations (FHO) in the atmosphere. Air has its own glow, as the sun's rays, cosmic particles and electric and magnetic fields act on its components. But there are situations when this effect is very strong. Scientists have taken hundreds of photographs to prove the existence of this phenomenon. Naturally, it was observed in antiquity. “In the third month of winter, at six o'clock in the afternoon, a luminous ball appeared in the sky, which slowly moved southward, terrifying everyone who saw it,” - recorded, for example, in the official chronicles of Pharaoh Thutmose III.
And on the spring evening of 1984 in Udmurtia, hundreds of people admired the bright white balls that circled and smoothly sank to the ground. Some power lines were damaged. Specialists in anomalous phenomena introduced the concept of "black lightning" into their lexicon. This is a PCH that can exist for a very long time and emit toxic gases. It is assumed that they strangled the inhabitants of the proto-Indian city.
