Shushmor is called the oldest anomalous zone in the Moscow region. It is located on the border of the Shatursky District of the Moscow Region and the Gus-Khrustalny District of the neighboring Vladimir Region. According to the well-known scientist P. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky, there is a megalithic complex, which is an ancient pagan temple. But local residents say that in the wilderness, between the moss-covered pillars, there is a granite hemisphere about six meters in diameter. In 1970, the director of the village school N. Akimov went with a group of schoolchildren in search of this tract, the legends about which he heard in childhood from his friend N. Orlov.
They did not find any megaliths, but their imagination was struck by giant two-meter ferns, aspens in two girths and birches with square trunks …
In 1885, workers who were repairing the Kolomensky tract suddenly began to disappear without a trace. Two years later, in the same places, a whole wagon train of four carts loaded with iron disappeared, along with people. The police combed the forest - to no avail.
The disappearances continued until the mid-1920s, when traffic on the highway stopped. However, already today, the disappearance of people has resumed.
In the Department of Internal Affairs of the Shatursky District, a lot of "hanging people" associated with the disappearances have accumulated. None of the missing were found. They all went into the forest, and no one else saw them. Moreover, among them were local residents who knew the local places very well.
Basically, anomalous phenomena are observed in the village of Wasteland, supposedly located closest to the forest tract. According to rumors, some huge snakes suddenly appeared there - either boas or snakes.
During a walk, the deputy director of the Shatura Museum of Local Lore N. Akimkina saw a three-meter black snake.

The same Akimkina says that, while collecting lingonberries in the forest with her husband and friends, she suddenly discovered that she had lost sight of her companions, although they should have been very close to her. She called out to them, they responded, but she could not determine exactly where the voices were coming from - they sounded as if from all sides.
Then the woman noticed that some unusual moss was growing around - bright green, fluffy, studded with berries, and so tall that it almost reached her waist. Natalya barely managed to get out of these thickets. When her husband and friends found her, it turned out that she was absent for an hour and a half, although it seemed to her that only a few minutes had passed …
According to the local historian V. Kazakov, the Shushmor tract was built around 2000 BC by a tribe of "lake people" who practiced magic and knew how to control natural forces. The "people of the lakes" worshiped the serpent god Uru. This cult is evidenced by objects found during archaeological excavations - for example, shards of pottery with ornaments of snakes … no one knows its whereabouts in our time.
This temple was dedicated to Uru. It was located on the site of the present village of Shatur ("shat" means "a small hill", "ur" - "serpent king"), opposite which a ritual stone still stands.
Kazakov claims that in these parts there are underground boulders, which are sometimes pushed to the surface by an unknown force.
The sanctuary was a dais on which stood a wooden or stone idol. A sacred tree grew nearby. Lighting a fire in front of the temple, human sacrifices were made to God. Once there was a spring near the village: sanctuaries were usually built near water sources.
In addition, the places for the construction of the sanctuaries were not chosen at random. As a rule, these were "places of power", where powerful emissions of energy from the bowels of the earth took place.
Indeed, researchers have repeatedly recorded an anomaly here, expressed in the twisting of the magnetic field strength lines, the epicenter of which was in the supposed area of the mysterious natural boundary.
But how to explain the disappearance of people? It can be assumed that in the radiation zone they began to clouding their consciousness, as a result of which they lost their orientation and died in peat bogs. Or did the mysterious "people of the lakes", continuing to exist in this anomalous zone, accept them as a sacrifice?
