Probably one of the most mystical corners of the Ukrainian Carpathians is Synevyr Lake. It is located in the highlands of the Carpathians (almost a thousand meters above sea level), shrouded in legends and traditions. Some of them run cold in the veins.

Lake Synevyr is located in the vicinity of the village of Synevyrskaya Polyana, Transcarpathian region. It was formed over 10 thousand years ago and is considered the largest and most mystical lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Perhaps because it is very deep (maximum depth 22 meters) and little studied by scientists. Mysticism to this reservoir is added by the stories of local residents who believe that it has no bottom at all. Like, therefore, having dived into Synevyr, you can dive on the other side of the earth. For example, in the USA. They also say that there is an island here that disappears from time to time.

Why are there locals! Even the Americans said last year that they had discovered an alien base at the bottom of Synevir with the help of a satellite. Allegedly, an unusual sphere-like object was recorded near underwater rocks, where traces of alien transport - trenches - lead. Even photos and videos were published. All this, in the end, of course, turned out to be a fake, but the lake did not lose its mystique from this.

They also say that in the middle of the lake there is an amazing island that disappears from time to time. Obviously, people mean the stone that lies in its very center. From above, it looks like the pupil of an eye, for this lake is popularly called the "Sea Eye". According to legend, it was formed from the stream of tears of a young daughter of a local count, whose name was Sin, at the place where her beloved, an ordinary shepherd, Vir, by order of the count, was killed with a stone block (the islet is supposedly the very block, and the lake around - tears girls).

Local scientists, as delicate PR specialists, do not reject all this mysticism (after all, every tourist attraction needs its own legends), but they deny it somewhat.

However, even well-known local historians of the region do not deny the version that in ancient times, witches and sorcerers nevertheless arranged their rituals and sabbaths near the lake. Because what are the Carpathians without the famous molfars! But that was once. But today Synevyr Lake is a positive geopathogenic zone, which heals body and soul with its energy. There is also a wonderful trout here, but it is forbidden to catch it.
