Once in my youth, I experienced such an unusual and inexplicable experience that it completely changed my perception of the world. For a long time, I didn't tell anyone about him. Firstly, I was afraid that I would be considered a dreamer or crazy, although I was sure of the reality of this event. Secondly, it was not so easy to convey what happened in words. This event was neither a hallucination nor a figment of the imagination, but it was then so “impossible” for me that it became indelible and transformative.

I looked for explanations in books and scientific papers. Finally, I realized that such cases are called mystical experience. It sounds pretentious. Better - transpersonal experience, because the word "mysticism" is overloaded with meanings, and is often associated with obscurantism, or associated with religion. In my case, there was no such connection.

So, transpersonal (mystical) experience, I call here the experience that led to the transformation of the Ego, and caused by the impact on a person of a collision with a mysterious and inexplicable rational mind, an event.

Transpersonal experience is described in history as the experiences of many famous personalities. But I'm sure that many ordinary people have faced similar experiences in their lives, albeit not of this level and scale, and not related to religion, but still … They have no idea what it is called. After this experience, their picture of the world becomes different, they no longer doubt the presence of a sacred dimension invisible to the eye nearby, which is not subject to the study of rational reason and logic.

Those who have not come across this, believe that a rational mind can explain EVERYTHING. In fact, they become empiricists and positivists in psychology, and tend to regard transpersonal experience as pathology, although this is completely wrong. It is with them that disputes are conducted both in life and in the network, and understanding is never achieved, because there are completely different pictures of the world. It's better not to debate, so as not to waste time.

Transpersonal experience differs from pathology in that it does not destroy a person, his life does not get worse (rather better) and it is quite adequate. There are, of course, cases of self-deception and falsification among people who speculate on the sole basis that this experience does exist. But that's a different story.

Transpersonal experience can only be individual, and it is often incomprehensible even in words. There is also a phenomenological approach in psychology, which is applicable to transpersonal experiences, and contrasts with those of its directions that see the goal in obtaining only objective knowledge.
