Twins Steve and Eddie Aern, 12, from Connecticut, suffer from a rare hereditary condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which makes them hungry all the time. Their appetite is completely out of control and they can eat until they die of overeating.
Prader-Willi syndrome is a rare inherited disorder that occurs when a copy of a portion of chromosome 15q11-13 is missing. People with this disease never feel full and can eat all day long. Stevie and Eddie were also diagnosed with autism, and the combination of the two causes them to frequently exhibit anger and aggressive behavior.
One in 25,000 children is born with Prader-Willi syndrome. The disease also reduces muscle tone and slows down the development of speech skills.
While the brothers were small, their mother Diana found it easier to control their behavior. However, now the weight of each of the brothers exceeds 80 kg, and it is very difficult to cope with them. Liana has to lock all products in the refrigerator and in special boxes; there she even hides cat food and cleansers in case the brothers want to eat or drink them.
Diana is now trying to keep the twins on a 1,200 calorie diet a day, but this is clearly not enough for the boys. Sometimes a feeling of aggression awakens in them, they begin to destroy objects and furniture, in a rage demanding food from their mother.

Parenting for Diana, who is raising them alone, is a 24-hour job with no weekends or vacations. She doesn't even have the opportunity to date two other children from a previous marriage.
