A couple of years ago, a disaster struck in the family of my mother's friend Lucy - 19-year-old daughter Nastya died.

Nastya and her friends went to the river. The girl loved to swim. At one point, the company noticed that Nastya had been gone for a long time. They searched for themselves, then they called rescuers. The body was found only on the third day.

Heartbroken Aunt Lucy buried Nastya in a closed coffin. A beautiful young girl was disfigured after a long stay in the water. The morgue did everything possible, put on a simple white dress, and neatly tucked her long hair on the sides, but the relatives decided not to open the coffin.

A little more than a week after the funeral, I dropped in to my parents in the morning and found my pale mother sitting in the kitchen. There was a jar of sedative on the table. She said in a trembling voice:

“Daughter, Nastya came to me! Itself!"

Mom excitedly told me that early in the morning someone rang the doorbell. Dad was on the night shift, so Mom quietly looked through the peephole. She saw Nastya, wet from head to toe, in a white dress. The sad girl said plaintively:

"Aunt Taya, let me in!"

Mom opened the door, looking in confusion at the pale girl, and Nastya said:

“I should have some hairpins or rubber bands. Very hair gets in the way."

“Now, baby, come in. I'll bring it for you,”my mother fussed as she went under hypnosis into the room to the mirror, where her hairpins and hairpins lay.

“I don’t want to scare my mother. You are not looking now, but pass a couple of rubber bands to Uncle Seryozha."

This is the last thing Mom heard. When she arrived at the door, there was no one there. Only wet on the doorstep.

"Maybe you just dreamed?" I asked anxiously.

“You see, I never went to bed. And she wiped the stain, there was a wet rag. And the box is open with trinkets …"

A couple of days later, she told her friend that Nastya needed to take the hairpins to the grave. The girl loved to style long curls, and sent to the other world with her hair loose. Mom said that she had a dream about Nastya and asked about it.

The two of them went to the store, bought beautiful hairpins, and when they returned, Aunt Lucy found out that again there was grief at their entrance. A neighbor, Uncle Seryozha, crashed to death in an accident. Mom then was dumbfounded by the news, but did not bother her friend with what Nastya told her about Uncle Seryozha, but she did not attach any importance. She advised her friend to make her daughter's hairpins dead. So Aunt Lucy did, having agreed with the widow of the deceased.

On the anniversary of her death, Nastya dreamed of her mother. Merry, with two tight braids, she smiled and waved her hand, sailing away on a boat into the white fog.
