Before the revolution, Krasnodar was called Yekaterinodar - in honor of Empress Catherine II, who in the 18th century gave this city to the Kuban Cossacks. Over the past centuries, it has acquired many legends, usually associated with its historical past.

Witch from the All-Saints Cemetery

At the Krasnodar Vsesvyatskoye cemetery there is an old woman's grave. In the photograph, the deceased's eyes are gouged out. The gravestone inscription reads: “Marfa Abramovna Turishcheva. March 19, 1912 " And below: "I'm back."

They say a witch is buried here. On a full moon near the grave, you can allegedly meet the ghost of Martha herself. And here made wishes come true. The burial site is always crowded with tourists.

Executed priest

Fatal accidents often occur on the section of the road between the Lenin farm and Starokorsunskaya. Those who survived the crashes say that before the collision, they saw a ghostly figure in a monk's robe with a hood on his head on the side of the road. The ghost did not move, he just stood and watched the cars passing by.

Promotional video:

They say that this is a priest who was shot by the Nazis during the war. He was buried in the nearest cemetery, but, apparently, the soul of a minister of the church never found peace …

Bath phantom

In the bathhouse on Sadovaya Street, employees several times watched a foggy silhouette paint something on the walls. True, the plots of the "paintings" remained unclear, just like the personality of the ghost during his lifetime.

The artist in white

Another story about the artist is connected with Krasnaya Street. The ghost of a man in white clothes sometimes walks along it. They say that during his lifetime this man was a painter and was in search of a model who would embody the ideal of female beauty. After his death, the spirit of the master did not calm down and continues to search …

Square on the site of the temple

The most important temple in the Kuban - the military Alexander Nevsky Cathedral - once stood on the Market Square.

After the revolution, the church was closed. Removing the bells from the bell tower, they set up a museum of atheism. And in 1932, by decision of the new authorities, the old cathedral was completely blown up. Only the foundation and basements have survived from the building. From there, according to legend, there were three underground passages - one connected the cathedral with the Trinity Church on Frunze Street, the other with St. Catherine's Church on Mira Street, and the third went to the river - it was dug in case of military encirclement.

Old-timers sometimes remember how they wandered through underground labyrinths in childhood, bumping into massive doors with huge locks and heavy oak chests. There were rumors about treasures hidden in the dungeon.

One of the entrances to the dungeon, according to the townspeople, is located under the park named after. Zhukov, with whom a romantic and eerie legend about a girl whose lover died at the front is associated. Having received a funeral, she seemed to have committed suicide. Since then, at the fountain in the park, where the last date of the lovers took place, sometimes they see two translucent figures - a girl in a colorful dress and a Red Army soldier in a uniform from the Second World War. The ghost of a mysterious cyclist also appears here, but no one knows who he was during his lifetime.

Drowned woman on the Yablonovsky bridge

Here's another story of unhappy love. Drivers passing here sometimes see a phantom of a girl in a white dress, who walks between cars, and then, in front of the drivers, rushes down from the bridge. According to old-timers, the girl drowned when her fiance left her.

Pshadskaya maiden

In the vicinity of Krasnodar there is a small village of Pshada. A ghost appears there, who was christened the Pshad maiden. It looks like a spot, like a translucent silhouette of a girl.

Somehow, a ghostly silhouette appeared in a video made by a group of tourists filming local attractions. It seemed that the phantom was floating in the air, and then simply disappeared … When the tourists went to sleep in their tents, they felt the presence of something irrational. And in the morning, for some reason, all the dishes were lying in the fire. It is unlikely that someone from the group could play a trick on their comrades.

They say that two hundred years ago a Circassian woman named Zulikhan lived in these places. She fell in love with a young man from a hostile tribe named Popeye. But the relatives sent her lover to the war, and the girl was told that he was dead. In desperation, Zulikhan put on a wedding dress, climbed a rock and threw herself into a waterfall. When Popeye returned and learned that his beloved was dead, he also committed suicide out of grief. Now Zulikhan is looking for his beloved. She lures tourists to the Pshadsky waterfall, and there, discovering that this is not her favorite, throws them down.

In those parts, it is also a phantom of the Pshad truck. According to eyewitnesses, whom the night caught on the road, on the highway out of nowhere materialized "GAZ-63" from the Great Patriotic War with one headlamp burning. The car stopped, and the driver, opening the door, offered to give us a lift. Those who agreed disappeared without a trace. If the traveler refused, then the car stood on the road for some time, and then drove away, dissolving into the night …

Black tram

Another story about the sinister transport. About a quarter of a century ago, people suddenly began to disappear in the city. The last time some of them were seen boarding a Tatra-13 tram in the dark. In most cases, the tram was black, sometimes burgundy-red appeared. The car had no license plate, and there was a sign “At the depot” on the front glass.

According to legend, in the early 80s, a tram driver was retired - an old man who had driven trams for almost half a century. He in every possible way resisted being sent to a well-deserved rest and cursed all his superiors at parting.

Isn't the curse of the old carriage driver working here? - thought the mystically minded townspeople. Moreover, people have long noticed: as soon as a mysterious tram appears somewhere, some kind of misfortune occurs. Thus, the black Tatra was seen on the eve of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. And the last time it seemed to appear on the Dmitrievskaya dam was on May 26, 2016, before the Kuban football club was expelled from the Premier League with a bang …
